"Why is it called the Mandela effect? "
Mandela effect is a thing were large groups of people remember somthing happening that other people remember it different.
For example snow white and seven dwarfs...everyone remembers the Disney cartoon were queen says "mirror mirror on the wall whos the fairest of them all" where if you was to go watch it its actually "magic mirror on the wall whos thr fairest one of all".
They call it mandela effect because a lot of people felt they remember nelson mandela dieing in prison in the 80s where he didnt..he died decades later.
Theres a load of examples on internet some are weird as i recall the same thing...for example...
Inyerview with a vampire with tom cruise and brad pitt...ive always thought it was called that.
But its called interview with the vampire the vampire chronicles.
Or tom cruise saying "life is like a box of choclates" when he actually says "life was like a box of chocolates "

Another weird one for me as a lover of the star wars movies.
I always remember 3pco the robot being all gold i even had the action figure toy when i was a kid and i would have said 100% 3pco was all gold.
But then this mandela effect thing shows 3pco has having one silver leg and the rest of him was gold.
I went bsck to watch the old movies and low and behold he has a silver leg.

I think it’s the former to. Here’s another though; Everyone remembers actor James Cagney’s famous line, ‘You dirty rat!’

There is another star wars one.
The scene where luke and darth Vader was dueling and darth says the famouse line "luke...i am your father" there is t shirts, caps, merchandise with that qoute even james earl jones who does darths voice, recalls himself saying "luke..i am your father".
If you was to go back and watch it now its "no...i am your father".
