Spectrum child here...
Jet Set Willy
Horace Goes Skiing
Chuckie Egg
Manic Miner
Mr Wimpy
Best mate in primary had a Commodore 64 so Daley Thompson's Decathlon goes straight to the top of the list! Remember those sex faces you used to pull when bashing the buttons on your keyboard?
The it was all about PGA Tour Golf on the Megadrive.
Never had a SNES but Street Fighter was the go to Saturday morning game with about a dozen of us at a mates. Always had to be E-Honda for the "100 hand slap" or Chin Like for the "Spinning Bird Kick".
Ah them were the days!!! |

Panzer dragoon saga is the GOAT, but it doesn't get the credit because there were only ~10,000 copies distributed in europe and sony fanboys are always whacking off to final fantasy, which is utter shite |

Xenon 2, Megablast on my Commodore Amiga. Actually, all the Bitmap Bro's games were pretty damn awesome and had brilliant music to accompany the great gameplay. And their shiny graphics of course |

Maybe there will be a spin off series where you play as Harvey Weinstein and produce films. |

Anyone remember Granny's Garden on the old BBC computers which we used to play in primary school? It was an educational game and we're talking mid-80's time.
Italia 90 in the arcades was great as well. Used to have one in the video shop (remember them?!) down the road and I pretty much spent my week's pocket money between there and buying Panini Stickers!
My nephews play some game called Fortnight 24/7. Bores the shit out of me just watching them but it's huge ATM. Even professional footballers are copying some of the character's dance moves as goal celebrations! |

Started on the ZX Spectrum with games like Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Jet Pac, Lunar Jetman, Atic Atac (basically anything by Ultimate).
Moved onto the C64 with the improved graphics and sound and sunk many, many hours playing games like Daley Thompson's Decathlon, Way Of the Exploding Fist, International Karate +, Summer Games, Winter Games, Beach Head, Raid Over Moscow, Mission Impossible (featuring apparently the first ever synthesized speech), Forbidden Forest, Uridium and loads more. Had a Quickshot 2 Turbo joystick as well
Can remember going round friends houses with a tape-to-tape recorder and making copies of all our games Nowadays you can get pretty much any retro game to play in a web browser! |

"Rainbow island on the spectrum. "
Hardest game ever, to get the true ending?
Collect all 7 jewels on all islands; what's more, collect them in exact order, not even one can be out of order or the whole game is ruined. Then for each set of 7, get through the door that opens QUICK, but collect the super jewel in time before you do. Miss this just once and the true ending is over.
Do this for all 7 islands, then you get 4 more secret super hard islands on top, and all 4 of those islands can only be completed on ONE continue.
All this on top of an already stupidly hard game as it is. Just complete it like so then. |

I look back at the old games for Atari/spectrum etc and I think the game developers were into something, when they made games virtually impossible. The pull to see how far you could get was great, not really convinced you could beat the game, but beat your current score or better, get further than your friends.
Flappy birds capitalised in that formula not long ago.
Then you lived in legend if you did ever complete one of them. |

Some great arcade games I must have spent a small fortune on back in the day were Narc and Chase HQ. |
