I live in an old building and it's that time of year again when the little eight legged squatters seem to decide they want to move in. I use peppermint spray to keep them out of the bedroom but if I sprayed it everywhere then it would smell like a sweet factory so does anyone have any other ideas about how I can keep the big eyed arachnoid hairy legged buggers at bay? |

"Aww I love them as I can't stand flies. No idea how to keep them out sorry. "
Problem is I don't mind swatting a fly, can't squash a spider though for some reason. Its like kill a wasp, Yes, kill a Bee, No. I can't explain why. |

"I've never heard of peppermint spray. Where do you get that from and does it really work? We get some monster spiders around here "
You can buy it from Wilko or Bargain ???? (sorry cant remember the name) but I make my own with some peppermint oil and cooled boiled water. It does work but be careful on your furnishings with it. |

Hate spiders but they do keep the flies at bay. Serious aracnophobe here.
A friend of mine has a pet tarantula and its interesting to watch in the tank but when she gets it out i'm out of there! |

Exactly.
I put down saucers of water every couple of days to ensure that they have an accessible source; they also have access to the dog's water. of course. |

They do hate horsechestnut and pepermint oil and i hate them so always have the spray at hand to spray everywhere in my room. You can buy a spray called spider be gone but it is basically those two ingredients put together. |
