I just watched Wonder Woman and my God it's bad.

Plodding script, ridiculous plot lines and laughable character development. I love kick arse women (Ripley in Alien, Furiosa in Mad Max) but I just wanted to slap her beautiful face.

More awful films please (and not so bad that they're good. Like Showgirls or The Room. Which are works of genius)

Wonder Woman is by far the dumbest film I've seen in a long while.

I had so much hope for it too, loved the Themyscira stuff, but its dogshit after that.

But she just came off as a moron, not naive, a total idiot who happens to speak English, Ottoman and Sumerian.

I laughed out loud when they infiltrated the German castle by merely "shpeekin in zee Germun aksent".

Or when the "surprise" baddie suddenly turns up at the end, revealing that he is actually the one she was looking for, that only WW can kill him. He then goads WW.

That is literally the only way she was going to win.

The film should be called "Steve Trevor: War Hero (and his hot but dumb GF)"

or just "War am Bad" if that's misleadingly cerebral.

LOL. I actually don't mind Titanic it's a dumb (real dumb) romance for 2 hours then disaster porn. Both are fine, but it should have been a 90 mins disaster movie.

My abiding memory (other than Winslett's boobs) is seeing it in a small Valleys cinema where you could drink. By the time the end credits rolled most people were d*unk and bored.

One young wag stood up and shouted 'Well that was utter shite' he got the first round of applause I ever saw in he cinema. Probably the 2nd best part of the film.

Only one film have I ever truly hated:

Man of Steel.

Take the near universal symbol of hope and goodness.

The guy who kid's in hospices wear as pyjamas becouse it gives them some sense of innocent hope against all odds.

And turun him into a mopey, self obsessed, murderous uncaring Randian Hero (look it up) who's only interested in saving the woman he fucks.

I hate you Zack Snyder. You obnoxious idiot.

Have to agree with much of this post. The bash fest when he is fighting and the city is being demolished goes against everything the character stood for.

The first hour and half with Costner and Crowe and they did the origin story was at its best, there after CGI fight after CGI fight...

I don't agree about the 1st act, but many seem to like it.

I consider the bit where RobinHood Dad #2 tells him he maybe should let a bus full of school children die, so Mrs Ross doesn't out him as an alien, a personal attack by Snyder on logic, reason and decency.

To say nothing of letting RobinHood Dad #2 get eaten by a Tornado.

That sounds like a Freudian issue fella. Am sure someone here can help you out.

Like I said, a lot of people who I like and usually agree with tell me the film was at least 'intetesting' in the begining.

Usually I scream 'YOUR WRONG, YOU FUCKING WRONG' in their face until both them and I are crying, but I still cannot understand that viewpoint.

I'm a bit of a Transformers G1 nerd and a massive part of me is utterly offended by them all. However, I have completely segmented the films off in my mind and as such, they become much more watchable. As a one off. No more.

Having said that, I am still genuinely angry about the one where Megatron was reduced to a hobo and got his head ripped in within 30 seconds of his only fight.

I find most of the Marvel movies a bit shit to be honest with a couple of exceptions, far too much "whish, swoosh, waaaaaah" CGI and overacting going on.

The Deer Hunter - I'm a fan of Vietnam war movies and after seeing it listed in so many "best 'nam movie" polls I got round to watching it and thought it was boring.

The Hobbit trilogy - I thoroughly enjoyed the Lord of the Rings trilogy so was looking forward to it but it just couldn't hold my attention.

I thought cavil was great casting terribly directed

Superman is a difficult character to make interesting he's way to powerful and nice

But knowbody has been able to get the character right for 40 years. Reeve was perfect

G.I Joe, featuring that guy with a second name as a first name.

You can see Christopher Eccleston die a little inside during that film.

Just like when he was in Gone in 60 Seconds.

Cavill definately got the look, physique and presence. Still not sure he can do the boy scout stuff that Reeves and even Routh had. But he got near it in Justice League.

----

"Superman is a difficult character to make interesting he's way to powerful and nice"

----

True but not as difficult as hey made it look!

Marvel did it with Captain America. All that power should be the problem.

Is he bring used?

Do people try and hurt those he cares for?

What happens when he just can't save everyone?

The main problem was a Director/writer who 'thinks' the only way an all powerful being like that would learn killing is bad, is by killing.

I genuinely hate it.

The remake of Arthur starring Russell Brand(!) Now THAT was bloody shite pure and simple. Veritably painful to watch in fact. In truth, words can simply not adequately express the pure and absolute cringe inducing shittiness of that woeful excuse for a movie.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I’ll add another vote for American Hustle to.

Ostensibly, the director actively encouraged his cast to ad lib the material.

Christian Bale took him to the side and pointed out that in doing so the plot would become obfuscated.

The director simply told him that he didn’t care and that he wanted to see the drama.

Bradley Cooper was especially guilty of some bizarre overacting in the movie which ended up as a pretentious mess (aside from Bale)
