In the Nazca mountains in Peru thousands of years ago the ancients drew huge pictures ranging miles long that could only be views in all there entirety from a viewpoint of 2 miles up in the air.

Given the fact that humanity at the time had not discovered flight, why would ancient people consider drawing pictures so huge that the complete picture could only be seen from space ?

One of the best theory's I have heard was that, they were landing strips for alien craft

Am I the only one singing The Bad Touch right now?

It's not a huge leap to reach this conclusion really. Given that human nature is pretty constant and that most monuments are aimed at the sky and towards whatever deities humans believe in at the time e.g. church spires.

But I've got a notion that the motion of your ocean means small craft advisory

It's not just you

Since the evidence for either is not dissimilar and depends entirely on interpretation and careful disregard of certain factors I'd say it's down to the individual to decide.

Yes weight to your theory is that during the 2nd world war, American planes landed on pacific islands and set up bases giving stuff to the natives. The natives had never seen planes before.

After the war ended the pilots and planes left the island and the natives then built huge wooden models of planes in the hope any planes flying overhead would see the natives model planes and come back and land and give them more free stuff.

How does that in any way give weight to the theory that hieroglyphs were landing strips? During the last 500 or so years societies have built monuments that reach up into the heavens that they believe their gods live in, doesn't that give equal weight to the theory that they were signalling to their gods?

Contrary to the popular belief that the lines and figures can only be seen from an aircraft, they are also visible from the surrounding foothills and other high places.

Copied from wiki.

....”at the time”.....when? They are rocks that have been moved in the desert and impossible to date. They were only properly discovered when an aeroplane flew over in the 1930’s I believe. They could have been created in 1915.

hiding from cock pics.

I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff but I was recently told that some ancient civilisations had found ways of making primitive airships by filling sheepskins with hot hair.

It is possible they rose right up into the sky on these, from what I was told.

From their point of view they were perhaps the same thing.

I suspect what they said was a lot of hot air.
