So what did everyone think of this race. Do you reckon Mercedes are struggling? Huge F1 fan here and would love to chat to other f1 fans.

I think that if it was Hamilton chasing down Vettel then he'd make a better fist of pushing him into a mistake. Bottas isn't a champion in the making at all, Last year proved that only getting 3 wins, one of which was when the titles were decided. And look at the start of the season for Lewis last year too. Would like to see a Verstappen or Kimi type driver alongside Lewis.

Ive always said Bottas was a driver Mercedes chose just to score points as after the issue they had with hamilton and rosberg, merc didnt want another driver who would cause inter team challenge. If they had chose i would say alonso or riccardo as they would both push hamilton. I find mercedes are all about hamilton which is a shame. I hope seb makes a real challenge this year.

I don't think it's all about Hamilton,Bottas just hasn't delivered the goods. The most important thing Mercedes want is the constructors championship. You can't win that with just one driver.

Exactly and i think thats why the chose bottas as they knew he would never challenge hamilton like rosberg did. If they replace bottas i bet they go with someone that again is only a point scorer like sainz, perez or hulkenberg

Would be good to see if its the car or the driver, Rosberg proved he had the tallent and gaul to stick it to Lewis and to my mind made for a better championship. But agree with the Silver Arrows being interested in points on the board in the constructors championship as their main focus. Shame Rosberg retired when he did, that was one season race fans were denied of seeing how Hamiltion would cope with being a 2nd best and how the dynamic would play out.

Totally agree but i reckon things were going on behind the scenes at meecedes to make him retire. I reckon behind closed doors merc favour hamilton amd rosberg could see it. I do think riccardo would be a good replacement for bottas as look what happened when he joined red bull when it was all aboot seb back then.

I think what was happening was that it had become personal between the two. Just like it was between Webber and Vet. Then it becomes toxic so something as to give before it totally fucks the teams up.

You're right, Monaco GP when Rosberg crashed out having just getting the fastest lap and stopping Lewis from making a charge because the safety car was out started that. The Hamilton person a wad clear to see and then losing to him on the Sunday too cemented that resentment. That relationship changed overnight, never to return. Goes to show, once trust in somebody has gone its difficult if not impossible to repair.

Hi Marco huge F1 fans here too, well I am Europa tollerates it

I think Ferrari have caught up a little having said that Vettal is one of the the luckiest drivers out there.

He stole the the first race in Oz and if Ferrari are having a bad day its alway his team mate who suffers.

But thats racing I guess there is a long way to go yet and I am certain the new 3 engine rule will play a big part in the outcome.

As for next year well id love to see Danny Ric in the second Silver Arrows.

Theres just something i dont like as a driver i mean hes good but always expects it to be about him. I would like to see seb up there again specially as ive met him. Had a gokd chat and hes a really nice guy. Same with daniel riccardo when i met him hes down to earth and always has a smile on his face. Daniel deserves a championship winning car and i can see the route red bull will go down. They will make max tgeir prize and all aboit him.

Saying that mercedes are launching in Formula E next year and i reckon rosberg will be their first driver. Lets wait and see.

Plymouth

Mercedes - Ham had a good run from 9th to 3rd, not his best qual ever but can't win em all. Tried to give Max room but still scraped with him. Bottas did well but not quite good enough, should really have been able to win, but I don't blame him too much for being cautious early on on a 1 stopper, worried about wrecking his tyres.

Ferrari - great controlled win for Seb to hold on like that. Really deserved that whereas didn't really deserve Melbourne. Unlucky Kimi again, but showing some fight we haven't seen much of for a while.

Red Bull - No titles here but well in the mix this year! Danny Ric so gutted to retire knowing he needed to punish Max's mistakes. Max fast as usual but showing still some way to go to be greatest ever! Good that he's afraid of no one but could have been a bit more respectful since Lewis did yield to him but not massively so, but still collided. Oh well it'll come.

McLaren - Dreadful Saturday! Decent Sunday but as I have always said made a mistake to dump Honda and 100M, they are starting to pay for it.

Haas (Team America F*"" Yeah!) - The car and KMag have really stepped it up this year but Grosjean was a prick seemingly holding him up on purpose in the race out of jealousy. Who does he think he is? Sergio Perez? Hope he best his just desserts.

Toro Rosso Honda - flipping hex no points for ages then a massive fourth out of nowhere. As I always said McLaren should have given them one more year and not listened to Alonso who's track record for career choices is not well regarded!

Force India - Got in the top 10 only to be penalised. At least Ocon looks like pulling clear of Perez.

Renault - Another good result for the Hulk who seems to like these bigger cars. Sainz has big raw pace but doesn't seem to get it together just yet.

Sauber - Yeah points for Ericsson. Always said he is underrated. People already turning their backs on LeClerc but Vandoorne struggled last season early on too. He will come good.

Williams - Back to 2013 are we? Despite a Merc engine. In survival mode but I'm sure this team could have been better run in recent years. A disaster. Smh.

Good round up of the race. I reckon come next year in formula E mercedes will show more interest in that series.

Good summery, but disagree on McLaren, see Grand Prix Driver on Amazon Prime. Inside look at whats been going on there and you'd struggle to find any reason why they didn't do what they did. Honda, gained more from McLaren than vise-versa.

Wherever the party is @

Vettel is a gangster. How he got that car round from lap 18 to he end on softs is nothing short of magic. Bottas and Lewis had squat. Even though with another 1-2 laps i think they'd have overtaken him.
