"Anyone else randomly received deeds and property information recently?
Seems strange I thought the bank held it until mortgage was paid off?"
I thought that too, we didn't get ours back until our mortgage was paid up. They're with our wills at the solicitors now. |

"Not anymore. I have the deeds for all of mine."
As far as we ubderstand it all Deeds are held electronically at the land registary now.
If the property is mortgaged or capital secured against it then the bank will place a Charge on the property.
Basically if the property is sold before the mortgage or debit is discharged then the creditors are paid before the property owner recieves the balence. |

PS...it is a bit strange though, even though we didn't get any deeds we got a letter saying thanks for the dosh and you are not getting any deeds but that was only after the morgage ended ( not with the same back though ) |

Wonder why they're holding onto mine then. "
No idea but I know I have 4 sets of deeds. Could be as said above they're electronic now and I have the originals. |

Is it safe to just keep them in the house? Never really thought about what to do with them when the mortgage is paid off. |
