Which soap villains past or present had you on edge and scared for the safety of the other characters?
Maya Sharma from Coronation Street back in 2004 sure was a scary character. This psychotic bitch was all kinds of crazy. When her first plan of revenge on Dev and Sunita by getting them arrested for bigomy backfires and faces 2 years in jail for marrying several men in Sunita's name, she decides to take one final act of revenge on blowing up Dev's shops all over Manchester, holds Sunita hostage in the flat above the corner shop, knocks Dev out when he comes to the rescue and ties him up too and then sets fire to shop with them still in the flat upstairs.
No wonder she was dubbed Mad Maya. Every scene she was in was unnerving.
Even the adverts for Maya's Mad Monday made me shiver with her standing in a dim lit room with walls covered in photos of Dev saying stuff like "You love me. You just don't know it yet". |

Another scary villain I remember is Trevor Morgan from Eastenders. I never saw the episodes but clips of him being abusive towards Little Mo appeared on 100 Greatest Scary Moments on Channel 4 and blimey, he sure was scary especially when pouring too much gravy onto her plate at Christmas. |

"Callum in Corrie. "
The live episode was disappointing as he was killed off in the first 10 minutes. It should have been a full on hostage situation with it ending with him being gunned down by the police or taken into custody to await trial |

Agree with a lot of the above.
As a youngster JR Ewing used to freak me out a bit because of his calculating way of not just having a dig at people but ruining their lives. |

I'm not sure whether to put David Platter on here seeing that he was not overall scary in his earlier years but there was one particular moment when he was on top of a roof contemplating killing his family with a gun. |

Vera Bennett - she was forever picking on poor old Lizzie ‘Ooooo me dodgy ticker!’ Birdsworth. Also I recall there was an evil female serial killer in the prison for a while - she was damned scary to |
