I've always been a space nerd so today seems an appropriate day to talk about it . The theory of the Big Bang is that there was nothing before it happened . But how is that possible . Something cannot be created from nothingness..Just my opinion . Discuss !! |

The odd "there was nothing and then it exploded" theory is a little odd.
I'd have thought it would have to start with something. Even just gases.
But then how are planets and stuff formed? |

I will never understand much of his work but the one lesson that any of us can take from his life is that..

Actually his talent was really for explaining very very complicated things in a way that mere mortals could slightly understand if they read his book four times.
If you've ever read a physics book that's some achievement in its own |

"Laurence Krauss trys a reasonable explanation in his book a universe from nothing.
Worth a read if your struggling with the concept" I don't struggle with the concept . My opinion is this... If there was nothing anywhere at all then how was something created . Try and imagine nothingness . It's impossible. There cannot have ever been nothingness. Equally for there always to have been something for ever and ever is as equally impossible. Yet one of these scenarios must be true . It's mind blowing stuff but one of these impossibilities has to be true and will always be beyond our understanding. |

People often say it will always be beyond our understanding even the day before we come to an actual understanding of how something works.
Ps if one of these impossibilities has to be true then one of them is not actually an impossibility |

Something can not be created from nothingness, one of the teaching principals of hermeticism. The great void has always been in excistiaice. |

The man was a legend! Even at the top of his game appeared to still be a seriously humble and humorous guy! I always thought he'd be one of those people that would just seem to live forever! |

"Physics tells us that you cannot destroy matter, and you cannot create matter from nothing, so there must have been something there before the Big Bang.
RIP dude."
You can create matter from pure energy. Einstein shows it's possible. You can also reverse the process #neuclearweapons |

There is no such thing as "pure" energy, you need a fuel source, QED you cannot create something from nothing.
And again, a nuclear detonation does not completely destroy matte, it just converts it. |

No sorry your description is flawed. A nuclear explosion is the result of mass energy conversion. The fuel in this case is the plutonium which converts into energy. Energy = mass x c squared |
