Under the Duvet

Just read the above quote in an interview and wondered what your thoughts were?

Certainly I believe the second you lose your rag you lose the argument

I agree. There's a fine line between being passionate about something and being angry.

It's true! I've lost it on here a few times already this week alone and to be fair it was futile and brought even more trolls out from under the bridge

"Certainly I believe the second you lose your rag you lose the argument"

Depends. If somebody attacked my kids I wouldn't consider losing my rag to be losing the argument.

I think my take on it would be "Choose your battles"...some things just aren't worth getting riled about.

You lose your focus when you scream and shout.

You can be angry and not demonstrate it.

I used to think giving a mouth ful gave me a good comeback but reacting gives them what they want.

You certainly lose the ability to reason efficiently in some cases! But anger is usually a defence mechanism anyway.

That was my reaction after being called a certain name the other night

i sort of agree as when i get really angry i often get really upset - always have done and will do much to avoid any kind of confrontation - BUT WHEN I DO --- the people around me who know me well realise im being full on serious - rarely shouted at my kids but they even say now they knew how much they had crossed me or gone too far when i shouted the odds - a few months ago at work i felt as though i was banking y head against the wall over a few issues and i gave a short but very loud and ranty speech - i had to follow it up with apologies the next day but without fail they all said - no its was totally justified - and things did change a bit - so - no you dont always lose that power

It’s a lesson that takes a long time to learn. Focus your energy on getting a positive outcome or the least worst outcome. It’s assertiveness rather than aggressiveness.
