Somewhere In The Ether…

....in the food/catering industry; What manner of dejected moron came up with the ridiculous VAT rules regarding hot vs cold food and the respective liability for added tax?! Does anyone understand the logic behind it?

Remember folks - always buy your fruit whole; If the vendor gives you sliced fruit you’ll have to pay the extra tax(!) Ladies did you know that Tampons are Vat’able? i.e are considered NON essential items in the eyes of the powers that be? Fear not though chaps - razor blades are not subject to VAT

No sanitary products are deemed essential so VAT applies, there has been some rather graphic protests about this.

Tesco have now taken the VAT off all related products though.
