Good evening all, I hope we are all well.
Now I’m sure some of us have had similar experiences to mine, some with older and some with younger. Why is it though, regardless of age, that you start to get on really well and you think your actually getting somewhere and then...... nothing. Not even a warning. It just dies.
Is it something I’m doing? Going to hard maybe? Asking too much? Is it happening to others? Do you ever find out why or just give up and move on, try something different ?
I might be a sucker more so than most because I haven’t learnt my lesson and I keep going back even though I know it will all end in heart break again most likely. So why do I always stick with Land Rover and get another defender ...??? |

"Because the defender was such a machine after the 90s... you can fix it every time it breaks... its fun.. agile... and solid.. "
You do know my post was a joke right? All be it pretty much 100% accurate of my relationship with my Land Rovers lol.
But yes you are spot on though. Apart from the since the 90s bit. They’ve always been fun, agile and solid. |

"Landys don't leak oil. They mark their territory"
So true. As an enthusiast who has owned Landrovers of all kinds since 1987, my advice is to take your time to build one using the best parts they made. Those in the know will understand what I mean. |

We bought a two year old disco 2 V8 from the dealers (years ago), sold it when it was three and the warranty ran out. It spent more time in Farnells than on our drive. Worse car we ever owned. I’d never touch another. |

That bastard of mine is stood in the yard at work. Put alot of work into the green marvel
New rear quarter chassis
All new handbrake
All new shocks n coils
New set of BF's
New rear door
Roof off and sealed
New clutch
New battery
Pulse other bits for the mot. Three weeks after passing the mot the engine went bang. Smoke everywhere, running on two cylinders and more rattles and banging noises as crawled the rest of the way to work doing 10 mph. That was 6 months ago,the day we finished for Christmas I thought..I wonder if it will fire up.15 seconds to warm the plugs up....fuck me it started first turn of the key. Still sounding like a bag of knackers. Big smile on my face I turned to my mate...looks like I'm looking for a 200 tdi motor now. |

I’d say the same to you but if you live more than three miles away I’m afraid my landy won’t make it that far. |

They're a fun vehicle to drive when you get them off road on some really challenging terrain, but awful things to drive on the road!
We have quite a few on fleet at work that I manage and I've lost count of the amount of transfer boxes I've had to have replaced |

Get yourself an ex forces Wolf.. Its the defender only better..
It survived Hurne test ground, eventually (the initial defender/wolfs fell apart, literally) Its the vehicle the defender should have been. .. |

More reliable, less driver fatigue, and stronger. That’s why the professionals use them. |
