I've seen lots of posts on your favourite this and favourite that but how about one that's a bit more down to earth. What's your favourute prime mover?
I cut my teeth on an asthmatic old Fordson Dexta that was addicted to Easy Start as a boy but my all time favourite has to be the Massey Ferguson 135. |

"John Deere every time followed by JCB but that would need converting to qualify for this."
I actually quite like the Fastrac, i think it's a really innovative design even after all these years. |

"So much like some of the old David Browns before Case took over."
Wow, that's a blast from the past. As a young man i worked on a farm where one of the tractor drivers was actually a german tank driver prisoner of war who never went home. He loved his David Brown, they also had a Case David Brown - bloody hopeless. |

We use to have a MF35, I restored it with my dad when I was about 12.
I use to see it go past on a trailer as the current owner restored it to show condition and took it all over the place.
I all so quite like the Trantor... |

Friend had an old Lamborghini tracked tractor he pulled out of of some woods someplace and restored..that's a proper classic lambo, never mind the new fangled speed machines they seem to be known for these days |

That's the tractor for me if I was in the market. I've no idea what it is but anything that's called 'smart touch' has gotta be good right? |

TE20 born in 1948 still splits my logs and a 1963 fordson Supermajor does all the pushing, pulling and general farm stuff, all start on the button and I never get tired of their honest old school durability, no electrics to go wrong on these old work horses. |

The Trantor was a fast tractor don't see them around now, I have to say I'm partial to the big old case tractors never driven one but they just look good in my mind. |

Is it embarrassing for me to admit I am farmer and own tractors!?
Get the impression not that many country dwellers or farmers on fab but I may be wrong.
And to answer the question it is John deeres here. Whether there my favourite is questionable as one currently getting a 4grand repair! To make matters worse it is shortly to be traded in....bastard! |

That would be really cool. I'm often seen mooning over the old machines at the Bath and West show. I'd love to take on a basket case and restore it to it's former glory. |

I’m not particularly cognisant on the subject but I remember well that as a child, I was obsessed with Massey Fergusons and had a collection of miniatures. I also was mad over any vehicle that sported cat treads. |

Tractor fact:
The Ferguson System (the hydraulic 3-point linkage), brainchild of the engineer Harry Ferguson, was first developed during WW1 and introduced as a standard in the 1930's, has since been fitted to all subsequent tractor designs across the world. A time when British engineering was truly on top of the world. |

And can you believe, even after all these years and all that technological advancement, that it's still never been bettered. |
