What or who is it?

In times of stress, worry or confusion I get in the car drive out to St Andrews, take a stroll on the beach then call in somewhere for a coffee.

After which things seem to be clearer and a little less comlicated.

How do you deal with such moments?

little house on the praire

Well my crutch is my cigarettes, i have it in my head that if i give up something drastic will happen.

In times of stress, i want to be on my own. If i want to think i go somewhere peaceful and quiet and just sit

Depends on the problem.

Cuddling with the Mrs. and talking things through.

Going for a 2-3 hour run along trails and through woodland.

Hell even hitting a 4-pack of beer, firing up Doom on the PC, bunging in god mode and letting rip can be great stress relief.

The land of grey peas and bacon

I turn into a nightmare when stressed... I am a huge worrier and just think of the negitives rather than the positives

Why become a nightmare when something does not go right?

Why smash things or shout when you can go into another room & take 5 mins to relax with a book?

No need for temper tantrums or violence when you can learn how to relax before a row starts.

Learn to read 1 line of a page over & over when temper is boiling & see how quick it disappears.

depending on the situation, red wine, loud music or walking by myself in places i have an emotional attachment to - ideally with the weather being cold, wet n windy.... there's something theraputic about being bashed about a bit by the elements

Cycle across the trails.....my body burns up all the negative energy whilst my mind sorts the problem out...

Drive.....roof down...fresh bright morning.....B roads....

A night out with my best friend....good pub, good beer....and a couple of hours of sharing and putting right not just my problems but the problems of the country and the world....

I would take my car out for a good spin with Queen's Don't Stop Me Now being played very loudly on the stereo, and sing on top of my voice.

My cat's purr is very soothing.

My dog making funny faces makes me laugh.

Eating comfort food would make me happy.

etc. etc...

I'm a people person but when stressed worried or down, I close down and only want my own company.

I figure my friends won't want me bringing them down so spare them my miseries.

I tend to go to the beach with my dogs or places that mean something to me and try and reabsorb the energies or good feelings I associate with them.

If really bad I don't go over the door till I can look the world in the eye again. xx

If it's something really heavy then I

have to be on my own. Phones switched off, blinds closed and deal with things on my own.

Not so serious then will turn to Craig or my dad.

Buy myself some new shoes

Seriously? Well, I think about the worst scenario, then apply logic as to what I can do to improve the situation... I consider that other people usually have worse problems to deal with... and I actually do feel better

I dont now the odd smashing and completely wrecking something that is totally useless can work, it takes your mind off the problem when you look at it and think "fuck what have I done"!

i always go a drive and seem to end up either at ayr beach or at north queensferry. the sea air seams to relax me.

plus nothing btter than tanking it down the road late at night to let ff steam.

i know these last few weeks ive been really stressed/down and ive been either at beach, in car or stayed in my bed as dont want to face anyone. the people that should be there havent been there and the ones that are trying to be there for me are too ffar away to be of any use!

its shit.

tonight ive drank bottle of vodka in my bed so i dont care now

I have a beautiful video short in my head of a wonderful day I spent in Doone Valley, Exmoor, chilling by the brook. I just replay it when required.
