My friend gave me a Nespresso with milk frother. I had a very poor opinion of them despite never tasting coffee from one  but I have to say I'm converted.
What's your opinion of them?
What have you been converted to that you really thought you'd never try? |

I only take my coffee black so I wouldn't buy one tbh..
I do like filter coffee though and use a machine for that which does just enough for a mug for one  |

We have a Tassimo and love it. I only drink decaf coffee though and i tried a decaf pod but it was to strong for my liking so now i use it to make hot choc. The rest of the family have coffee though  |

Yeah and I only drink decaffeinated so we need two types of bean. I quite enjoy the ritual of grinding beans (no euphemism intended) and waiting for the coffee to brew and I have also made a selection of amusing cafetiere cosies which give me hours of childish pleasure |

Yes, the pods can be expensive. Our kitchen is almost like a coffee shrine with all the dedicated gear. |

We find the best beans to be Aldi espresso and Yirgacheffe which so far we've only been able to find on line.
We used to belong to a coffee tasting club and they advised against keeping beans or ground coffee in the fridge. |

It's worth it so you can use whatever beans you like, customise it for the amount of water/milk etc. You aren't restricted to a limited range of pods etc. Between discount codes and cashback I managed to get a £600 machine for £240 in the Black Friday sales in 2015. The amount saved by using beans from a local roaster probably means I'm quids in vs a pod based machine.

Should be kept in an airtight container out of sun light in a cool dry place. Should also be used quite soon after breaking the seal.
The place I get my beans from roasts them their self and even though sealed in foils bags always give a best before of only a month after roasting. |

I like lavazza Rosso as my daily drinker, there's a couple of roast houses that do a market near me and I'm always sampling some of their beans.
Some people say fridge, others don't. To be honest, I've never noticed a difference.

If they're kept air tight then you probably won't. But most containers or bags aren't actually airtight and the beans absorb moisture and tastes from whatever is around it. Perhaps try a poorly sealed container of beans in the fridge next to some freshly boiled eggs.. Yummy coffee! |

We've bought a load of pods from a well known site, they're very good.
All those pods go into landfill and are washed up in their millions on shores of the earths seas. They don't biodegrade. "
There are places that can recycle them. I looked online and found a place near where i live that recycles them, just have to save them up and then drop them off. |
