I guess it depends on how much you like your coffee. I have one but have other pods than just coffee.
Great if you don't want to go to a coffee shop in my opinion.

I'm not a huge coffee fan but have a Tassimo at home. Whoever comes visit etc and has a fancy coffee from there seems to like them and prefers over instant!
I do use it for hot chocolates from time to time and it makes a decent one in my humble opinion so my machine does get lots of regular use!  |

The former. Good coffee doesn't have a price tag for me. If I think it's worth it I'll pay it.
I've had cheap coffee that tastes great, I won't drink in Starbucks. I just don't like it but many people do.
I can make an awesome cup of coffee on my stovetop I bought at s carboot for 1£ that stands up to my Nespresso.

Don't drink coffee myself but Mum and Dad have bought 2 or 3 coffee machines over the years and have never found one that makes as good a coffee as the plunger cafetieres. They haven't had a pod one though, last one Dad looked at was a rather expensive bean-to-cup one, Mum just took him that's why he's not allowed any money, lol. |

I use a nespresso every morning. I love the fact it uses fresh milk (the milk capsules with tassimo and the like can taste vile). The pods are expensive but there is a huge range of varieties to choose from and also a few different company's that make their own cheaper alternative compatible pods, I tend to stick with the nespresso pods as I love the taste and they work better in the machine than the cheaper alternatives |

That's my next move. I can then take it with me (dare I say I'm my man bag?  . )
I've just too many ways to make coffee it's becoming ridiculous. I can't warrant another purchase.
It's the equivalent of buying those novelty decorative tea pots.  |

Great tasting coffee but pods far too expensive....it's a bit like printers and razors....the mechanism is cheap but the consumables are expensive...and they are all bad to the environment as already mentioned. |

I have a Dolce Gusto machine at work and to be honest it a waste of time. The messing about it takes just to make a coffee. It holds enough water for 2.5 cups of coffee, makes mess, and the pods are over priced for how many you get. I'm all for a good cup of coffee as I love it, I'm there first one in Costa, but these machines are just gimmicky if you ask me. I'm just happy enough with some decent instant coffee. My opinion anyway. |

Your right. The faffin' about with some machines make it less easy for those In a rush.
Have you seen how they serve tea in Turkey. Or the way the Japanese enjoy it. It's an event, a ritual in some cases.
Good things shouldn't be rushed.
And a coffee break should be that as well. A break from it all.
I can take a while. But I enjoy the cup of joe when I'm done.  |

And what makes it worse, the machine is in our office, so if it's your turn to make for 4 people, you have to go over to the canteen just to refill the bloody water. Normally by the time the fourth is made, someone has finished there's as they are not that hot. Warm enough to drink, but cool enough to drink in 1. Just get some some Carte Noir |

kettle for me...these machines just seem like loads of faffing about and wasteful of both money and needless packaging just for an average brew. folk love a gadget though |

I have a senso machine gathering dust since I was given a tassimo machine...I love mine...it's also the machine of production/technician staff so I buy the pods and get decent coffee at festivals...dowe egberts & Aldi for the instant |

You can recycle the pods. I googled it and found a place near us that recycles them for charity. |

I had a Tassimo, pretty good coffee. I just bought the espresso pods (without milk pods) so it worked out cheaper.
However, when Lidl did a pretty decent "proper" espresso machine for 60 quid I jumped at it. Ground coffee or even beans are so much cheaper.
I reckon I'll get a ROI in about 6 months. |

I love my nespresso mainly because i like latte's but a good espresso every now and again is good.
Pods are dirt cheap really, for 50 i pay about £14 and I get some from starbucks too now which are nice.
Also whenever i order new pods from nespresso i order a recycle bag to send my empty pods back in |

I paid the money for a bean to cup coffee maker, pricey but worth it, consumables are minimal, but it does need descaling a lot as we live in a hard water area. |

I've a Sense machine which uses tea bag like pads 
Coffee is mainly Douwe Egberts which I buy online. But that's not a bad thing, and works out around 12p a cup

I got my machine for £260, it was half price, I spend about £15 a week on coffee beans, but I get through on average 10 cups a day, it has a milk steamer but as I drink black coffee I didn't go for the integrated milk tank. |
