Raki is a non-sweet, anise-flavored spirit popularly consumed in Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Bosnia and other Balkan countries as an apéritif.

Yep but it makes business meetings in that part of the world very interesting...the Chair opens the meeting then stops it whilst everyone gets their fags out, the bottle of raki comes out and then its back to business. Bit of a killer for 8am meetings though

Thats Reikia they drink in Bulgaria - all the older peeps make their own and it would blow your socks off! Its d*unk like shots over there. I can drink 3 then i'm floored!

Cretan raki is unreal. they keep it in old lemonade bottles under the counter. two weeks of it in stalis a few years back gave me an ulcer

Spme genius at Oddbins decided it was going to be the next gig thing and bought loads.

They ended up selling it off cheap. It may be part of the reason they're going in receivership.
