I'm spending Christmas with my Sister and nephew's near Southport this year as she's separated from her Husband. I'm usually up in the Cairngorm Mountains but family first. Where are you spending Christmas and is it through choice or expectation? |

" In the two years since I lost my wife I have spent Christmas with the family, but this year I will spend it on my own. (my choice) "
It's such a poignant time for a lot of people.
I hope you enjoy yourself |

My kids will be with their dad, I'll be visiting my parents, both of whom are now in nursing homes, it will probably be the last Christmas that my mother will know who I am. |

At my parents with my brother, his wife and their two daughters.
I usually spend it on my own which I love but my parents are getting older and they really want me to come so that's what I'll do. |

With my kids. Usually all go to my parents for dinner. But it's getting too much for mom to cook as they are elderly. I had them round mine last year. But this year we will get together at my house for boxing day instead. |

Indeed.
Until I lost my parents years ago I didn't really think about people on their own. |

Get your tiny violins out.
I'm at work everyday between 23rd Dec and 2nd Jan.
I'm spending it with grumpy colleagues who should be at home with their kids and old people who have no one else to spend it with. |

I am dreading Xmas. My brother decided to invite his inlaws (and other extended family on their part) for Xmas. But instead of inviting them to his house he invited them to our house at this point no one could say no because the invite was already thrown out there. We had already invited the usual family and friends for Xmas.
So this Xmas my house shall be filled with about 40 odd people and I am not looking forward to cooking for and entertaining so many people |

First year in my first house so I am hosting joy of joys for the family - two fussy traditionalists, one vegetarian, two big eaters and three normal people. As much as that sounds like a bit of a moan, it's not. I'm blessed to have my family and I can't wait for our competitive streaks to kick in with Articulate and the snores that accompany Doctor Who. |

At mum and dads. I'll be the one doing all the work as usual. Mum and dad are currently phoning round all their solo friends and cousins to invite them round just to make sure I'm properly run off my feet.
I'm working Christmas eve until seven and sleep is looking unlikely, too much prep for dinner and baking to do when i get home. |

I will also be at work very day from Friday through to the 7th January, however, I do work on a cruise ship heading for the Canaries, so will hopefully be surrounded by smiling faces!
Dawn will be staying at home with her son who will be home from Uni.
They will visit her mum on Christmas day. |

I'm cooking for all the family at home. I had last year off so maybe for 2017 I'll look to do something different.
Even though I'm feeling more festive than I have done for a while, it's a difficult time of year for me. |

Christmas day hubby and i will go to see eldest daughter and her other half for a while then home for dinner together. Son will be around late evening. Hubby might go to see his daughter for a while. Boxing day is footy day and we will spend that with 32 thousand other fans. We have a day when all the family are coming to us for lunch/tea and we will play chase the ace, uno etc and eat to much.
We will also visit chams and city celts over the holiday period

At my parents with my kids and grandson in Staffordshire.
My dad has advanced COPD and this is probably the last time we will all be together.
It's quite probably the last time I will see him and even typing this has me in floods of tears. I have no idea how I'm going to stay strong for 7 days |

Not looking to Christmas as much as usual this year!
Will be waking up alone on Xmas morning for the first time in my life as the kids are sleeping at their dads Xmas eve - then I'm working Boxing Day and all Christmas week for the first time ever - so no holiday time with the kids! |
