Happens to me all the time. I like to think it's because I've been on here so long people have stopped thinking of me as fresh meat that might succumb to random flattery and has nothing to do with the fact there are just far more appealing prospects all over. Or it's just because it takes people a while to type and those threads move quickly. |

It gets my goat when I write something I think is really funny or with a bit of effort in it and nobody acknowledges it! Or the worst is when an op quotes everyone else's response apart from mine! That's when I feel left out  |

I think we all know the feeling. I find it's best just to have a little break if you're ever feeling like this. Recharge the batteries.
I haven't really contributed a great deal for a while now myself. For this and more personal reasons. It all became a bit pointless. I've come to realise that my time's often best spent elsewhere. It's a shame because I used to enjoy it, but there's much more important things in life than the forums. |

I made few friends to interact with. ( my own little clique maybe.?) I. My short time I've seen some leave.
I'm hoping to make new friends. Who knows.

I kinda agree with these two comments. There are people on this thread that have "ignored" me or likely I have "ignored" -- however, it's most probable that it wasn't intentional -- too engrossed in another interaction or slow/fast typing or didn't have a specific reply to each other's comment so let it go -- on occasion it might be personal, that's allowed too to be honest (although I personally never aim to do this in a thread where you should be interacting with each as that is mean, which is never my intent) -- on a thread I start I try to acknowledge everyone's comment to the OP, only ones I might skip are if the person was clearly responding to someone else and I didn't specifically have something more to add but again the intent is to be inclusive on the thread....but you can't satisfy everyone all of the time. Just turn up, share your ideas and thoughts and do it in faith that no one is particularly out to get you, otherwise this really isn't the place to be. I honestly think most of "ignoring" people feel is happening is mistaken overlooking and that the majority of people if directly accused of it would be incredibly surprised and upset that the other person felt that of them. I know I would. So to anyone who thinks I've ignored them -- I'm sorry, hasn't been my intent and if it happens again let me know.  |

I think if two people are just chatting with each other then yes, take it pm, but the forum works best when it's people responding to and bouncing off people's comments, questions, points and arguments. If it's something like just people saying "thank you" to every compliment they've got then yes, that's a boring thread to read. |

As others have said, we've all been ignored at times (in fact there was a brief period I was considering changing my username to The Invisible Man) but that's the nature of the beast.
There are times threads will be fast moving and your post just gets lost in the deluge. Times where something you thought was an interesting comment, wasn't actually that interesting to others. Times where you will be ignored for no reason at all. It's just a fact of forum life, and is the same on every forum I've been on regardless of its subject matter. In the end you either accept it or let it drive you to distraction, I know which I do. |

You can't always rely on other posters.
Sometimes you have to be
pro-active,
a positive attitude,will often bring positive results.
Having said that,a pair of tits will often invalidate all the above.

What amuses me about being ignored, is having your post ignored, then 10 posts later someone posts pretty much what you've written and receives critical acclaim, as everyone quotes it and lauds their social skills.....whilst you're left thinking "but....but i....oh whats the use" |

It's all been said but... I do ignore some posters. If I know I have been blocked by them or I have blocked them then I won't post on any of the threads they start or respond in a thread.
Also, sometimes saying nothing is better than responding.
I have started several threads over the years where I am the only person posting on it. Not just the OP but every post.
If I feel I am being ignored I just assume that there are reasons. |
