What's changed...... well people seem to think that swinging means any sex act is okay and that basic manners and language codes don't need to exist. F this F that F anything that walks in any position with anything that comes to hand. |

I think the thing that has changed is that it is more widely discussed, partially if not mostly due to the internet.
more people are on the scene and they all bring their own interpretation of what that means.
i wouldnt make my judgement on what swinging is based solely on the swinging sites that exist.
those that are swingers to the letter will carry things out their own way and to them, nothing much will have changed.
swinging is what you make it...you make your own rules and if they don't match someone elses, then you move on.
there are more interpretations and the plus side to that is that there are more options...it should not all be considered negative. |

more users here than standing outside the chemist at 8.55am.
people thinking its a free for all.
little or no effort required to get your leg over.
confusion between swinging and dating.
confusion between swinging and escorting.
consumption of lives .... swinging is the reason the marriage/partnership exists.
cheaper than having to buy drinks and entry fee to a club in the hope of a leg over.
and down right selfperceived superiority.. people start to believe their own hype...............
usually the first day of any downfall when that happens |

I don't think it is even younger people... i think it is more people on here thinking that swingers are easy... when they are probably more picky about who they meet.... |

lack of respect and thinking that if you message a hello to someone then you are in there!!!! (I refer to "all" parties, not just individual groups)
also at this time of year, people thinking that just cos you are maybe not working then you should be free to meet at a minute's notice. |

There are more people calling themselves swingers - they think that creating a profile on a website means they are swingers.
In fact swinging has just been diluted down.
And there are too many people trying to make money out of it. |

well i'll probably get a few mixed reaction's from this but hey ho.
there's a few indifferent _iews here but some people seem to blame the younger generation, which in my mind is wrong because if we weren't involved then there would be a few people not able to live out fantasies.
on that note i have only been swinging for maybe 8 months and my _iew is that swinging is a way to get to know like minded people so we can live out these fantasies.
that's why you need everyone from all walks of life to be involved because there are certain things you can only do with certain people.
everyone should be treated the same as we are all here for the same thing and that is to enjoy having fun with other likeminded folk in a nice relaxed atmosphere.
thanks jm |

One of the things that has changed over the years is that swinging is no longer the secrative activity it used to be. I mean, it's on TV just about every day! And because of this very man or woman who has a bit on the side claims to be a swinger.
And in the eyes of some guys, swinging clubs are nothing more than brothals. They pay thier entry and expect every woman to play with them on demand.
On the "younger swingers" side, we recently met a couple aged 24 and 26 at a party, who said that they had been swingers for ages, all of 3 years. The look on thier faces when we told them that we've been swinging longer than they have been alive.
On the whole, you get out of swinging what you put into it. |

The biggest change for me ta swinging was the Internet pmsl
Before that it wasn't always easy ta arrange stuff as it is now
The main thing over the last few years is the amount of swinging clubs popping up and the amount of new peeps taking to the scene xx |

"I agree with Fmuma on this, i feel there is a real lack of respect and has been for the last two years or so...with some but not all "
We were talking about this the other day.
There isa huge lack of disrespect at the moment.
Also, I personally think that with the advent of the internet and asociated swinging sites, swinging has become a 'free for all' rather than a hobby where trust and honesty were the watchwords.
It's almost like a trophy sport to some. |

"Talking as a complete novice to this scene . What has changed in swinging in the past few years .
"
swingings changed loads over the years ive been doing this
I started about 10 years ago and there was hardly any clubs open, not like there is today, when you used to go to clubs everyone was playing, clubs now seem more a social event, swingers sites had much less people on them but most seemed genuine
i think now days swinging is just fashonable, when you go to clubs on couples nights there are loads of couples who dont play but go for the atmosphere and maybe they feel naughty being in a swingers club
saying that the wide use of web cams has made it easier to meet people, in the early years we met so many people who sent us old pics, so that bits improved |

Agree naughtynymphos
it is the couple who don't play and "just enjoy the atmosphere" who are RUINING swinging
it's like what is said about tourism- tourism destroys the places which are nice to visit. |

Looking at the posts on here, I have to smile!
" There is a huge lack of disrespect at the moment.
i feel there is a real lack of respect and has been for the last two years or so.."
Just two of the “Lack of respect” quotes and I can’t understand why anyone is surprised! When we started swinging, there was general respect, not only for swingers but for everyone. If a guy or gal had said they were cheating, they would (and did!) have had short shrift from everyone. Now, it is “Each to their own”. That not only speaks volumes about the person, but also about the scene. People looking in from the outside need to be educated that this is a “respectable” pass time between consenting adults, when all they see are cheaters
Political correctness has been responsible for a large part of the change in swinging.
"people thinking its a free for all.
little or no effort required to get your leg over.
confusion between swinging and dating.

Number three there really strikes a cord! Confusion between swinging and dating! Swinging (IMHO) is four or more people getting together for some sexy fun! If you picked up someone in the pub and went out back for a shag against the wall or in a car, you wouldn’t call that swinging, it is just a shag!! If you asked someone out and ended up shagging back at your place, that is not swinging! A single guy and a single lady getting together is dating!
A couple with a single is a debatable point and there the line blurs…
The rest of that little list are primarily the domain of the single predator, although we have known couples guilty of number one!
"And there are too many people trying to make money out of it."
Yeah, we have noticed this as well. Not people charging for “services” (although we have been asked to pay!). Mostly it is couples expecting single guys to front the hotel and even dinner costs or travelling expenses. We once answered a request for holiday fun in Spain. We were in France and the other couple were on holiday in Spain, but just s short (ish) drive away. We agreed to meet and the next email had an amount we would be expected to pay on arrival. Their argument was that the villa was costing them, so we should pay half of one days costs! Told em to fook off!
This is of course just my opinion, but the question was asked and I answered. Do I think singles have a place in the scene? Not for me to say cos we don't play with singles. They are here and people want to play with em, so I guess they are wanted! Do I think they are swingers? Nope! |

Apologies if this ruffles a few feathers but one of the biggest changes must surely be the influx of single guys.
Originally swinging or wife swapping, as it was known, was the realm of couples and the odd few lucky guys.
Now it seems the guys are outnumbering the couples.

because as i think other have said... a lot of single guys DO see it as a easy way to get there leg over with minimal effort and they do think that the women in the scene are easy.... and that is the perception we are always having to fight.....
and then there are those here because "its cheaper than the numbers in the telephone box"
and how many times have we seen guys complain about not getting a meet after 1/2/4 weeks.... or because they are reasonably good looking and they haven't had a meet.....
think about it..... |

And all of what you say must surely go a long way to explaining the decline of respect in swinging that was mentioned earlier.

One thing I can't help noticing in the last couple of years in swinging, and that is the emergence of self appointed swinging 'experts', they have these inflated ideals of what swinging means and they try to impose their will upon others who dabble in the scene.
It's not only on websites either, it's also to be found regularly at clubs and parties.
It's like they have written their own swinging manual and expect everyone to fall into the pidgeon holes they have created. |

I do kinda agree with you, but I think everyone has their own book of what swinging is! Everyone has their own rules and likes and dislikes, so "the book" is inevitable.
But you are right that people try to impose, but not their will, just their ideas. There is no problem with stating what you like and putting it on a thread (although you would think that it was a capital offence).
People are very quick to shout down those with definate ideas by typing "Each to their own" or similar. If they really believed that they would let others have their say and not shout them down!
I said in my earlier post about tolerence of certain practices like cheating, but then those same people are not tolerent of another _iewpoint! I have been guilty of that and I would think we all have at some point.
On the point about pigeon holes for people. We ALL do that! How else can we decide who to meet? We have to say not this one because they are bareback and not this one because they are too big/small for us. Maybe some take it a bit far, but as the PC brigade say, each to their own |
