A variety of reasons,some are worried about being found out and recognised by neighbours, friend, relatives and colleagues... so they would not put up a pic I guess?
I prefer to see who I am talking to, and I mean a face pic.. but hey each to their own xx |

It's all about choice. People can dicide for themselves whether to post pics, show friend lists, verifications or whatever.

or the ones that can find the site, can register, can go through the profile building...but don't know how to upload a pic.....but if you give them your mobile number, they'll send it...aye, right!
i have a face pic, but it's kept private. i don't keep pics on here, if i want to swap pics then it's because i'm talking to them so i take it off the site and to private email |

What we find worse than silhouettes though are people who only have an avatar pic but no others.
You think to yourself-they look interesting,lets check them out- and when you do there's nothing there.
So at least with silhouettes we don't waste our time.

oops,we changed our profile name. reason being that if someone typed our old one into google,because of a really stupid error on my part,they could find out my mobile number,address,surname. never really gave it a thought when we started and used an existing and personal email address with links to other things we have on the net. stupid.so we changed it |

the point I was trying to make is that no one should be made to do "anything".... as the whole "glass houses" thing tends to come back and bite people on the bum!!
