My daughter used to have the Teletubbies on all day when she was a wee'un. I didn't have a problem with it until I realised that Tinky Winky was male... and carried a handbag!! It all became clear to me then: the writer/producer was trying to send out subliminal messages as Dipsy also had an 'aerial' on the top of 'her' head which also looked suspicously phallic (a symbol depicting a slut perhaps?). Tinky Winky's name is sexual and the triangle on his head is a symbol of gay pride and he LOVES gladiator movies! (kinky or what! - and kinky rhymes with Tinky AND Winky!!!).
As for Po, well, one more 'o' and we have a scat fetish going on there don't we.
Lastly, there's La La, well that's just waaaaay too camp really isn't it.
Then we had the daily food fights, which under review could have sexual undertones for those who like various different cullinary items thrown at them and lastly there was Noo-Noo, the hoover-sucking-tubbytoast-eating-vaccuum-cleaner. Is it any coincidence that 'his' name is also a common slang word for a woman's vagina? And that it's action of hoovering up anything it sees is also akin to the action of a vagina, in some cases? hehehe
I didn't ban it in our house as that would be draconian and anti-something probably and I didn't want to run the risk of social services stepping and removing my otherwise healthy child and placing her in a foster home run by child abusers - which would have gone some way to filling their annual quota for collosal fuck ups beyond believability eh?  |
