What is the worst excuse you have heard for someone not being able to meet either on here or in daily life ?

Funny enough it was today!

I had a meet arranged, just a lunch time coffee after months of wanting to meet. He was supposed to have phoned last night to confirm, but he didn't so I knew it was going to be a non-starter.

The meet was for 1pm today, noon he texts to say he had just become an uncle could we postpone until Friday.

Yeah...right -

Needless to say it's never going to happen!! Daft thing is he's someone I'd not normally meet as younger than I prefer - goes to show!

Surely the worst excuse would be no excuse?

would you actually care if they say that their monkeys nephews best mates cousins baby is cutting teeth...as long as the cancel is before the expected meet?

i can't imagine the excuse itself would furnish you with anything other than judging for yourself if their excuse was genuine or they were just a timewaster, but even the most preposterous excuses are plausible.

I've just paid out for a hotel room with a single fem, who was all up for a meet, and ever so excited.

Her phone is now switched off, and she has blocked me.

Guessing thats a waste of £50!!!

One on here from single blokey telling us his sister had just died.

2 weeks later, posted on the forum about how she'd just cooked him Sunday lunch, with all the trimmings.

In life...... ebay. Sold a car, buyers brother text to say that his brother (buyer) had been in a car crash and broken his neck. We cancelled the sale immediately with our sympathies and wished him a speedy recovery.

Fucking idiot (buyer) tries to buy another car from us, 3 weeks later!

I did email him, congratulating him on his miraculous recovery. Removed the bid, blocked him.

I should really give up!

We had that same scenario with a fake cheque.... Then wanting some of the money back as son had been in a serious car crash....it was a scam going round at the time.

Swinging....too difficult to park the car, missed their train, had to work etc.

And then one turned up and can't perform...oh well, you live and learn as they say!

A guy txt me a hour before I was due to leave to travel to his, which was a hour drive by the way. Said his mum had a heart attack and he would be at the hospital, I replied back saying so sorry let me know how things are later. He txt back saying fancy a quick fuck in some woods near the hospital, but could only manage 10mins obviously I didn't make the hour journey for a 10min fumble in the bushes lol x
