he is doing very well, nearly 3 pound i think?
at my loacal hospital now been there for 3 days. he is breathing unaded for 3 hours then breathing aided for 5 so he is on and off lol
he is now taking only milk so no more drips and i get him out for a cuddle most days.

all day i have been wondering weither to update this or not? as yesterday seemed such a good post, but i think i should seeing how much everyone has asked after alfie and been so kind.
this morning i got a phone call saying the dr's needed to speak to me so i went straight in.
Alfie has an infection of his bowel its a serious infection rare but serious its one of the leading causes of death in prem babys. he has been bleeding from his bottom. they have stopped all his feeds he now has a long line put in, (a drip that goes near his heart to give him everything he need) and he is on 3 kinds of antibioatics.
they will be doing an xray everyday as it can cause his bowel to bust and will need surgery if it does. he is settled at the moment and is reviving a blood trainfusion. This is a very serious infection and his low weight does not help at all BUT knwoing alfie i am sure he will be fine. i was shocked to hear this news and i am worring more then i should i guess but for now everything is looking just fine i think. |
