Well two things spring to mind, for starters, what people get up to behind closed doors is none of anyones business, secondly as some of us are lucky enough not to have high powered jobs we wont be headline news, however, i do agree that one will be looking over ones shoulder at events, shame as will spoil it completely  |

Chances are that the journalist and that ladies boss are probably on Fab or another website them selves lol
As for the security issues raised by institutions over the possible blackmail threat of swingers in high positions

As Scotland is well known for its fabulous socials and recently there was all the hassle of some sneaky shite telling the venue of one it was a swingers party which meant a new venue had to be arranged at very short notice......would it put any of you off of attending socials?
Not just in Scotland but anywhere?

With the newspaper labelling the site as an 'extreme sex' site, given the legal definition of this in law. There may be potential to pursue the newspaper for libel.
The site may provide an avenue for adults to engage in consensual sex, but it is a long way from promoting 'extreme sex' which the possession of video/images/cartoons can see you in prison.

I think there is a need to read between the lines in this instance. She'd pissed her superiors off for having an affair with one high ranked copper whilst living with another high ranked copper. The policeman she had the affair with had a wife and kids and he left her and moved to Edinburgh to be with the lady in question.
This is internal stuff that has been leaked out to the media over her extra-marital activities. Us and the media are being used by the Police Force to pursue personal vendettas here. |

Some of us don't welcome the added exposure a well publicised court action would bring. We would have to leave Fabs if that were to happen as we simply couldn't afford the risk of someone we know getting inquisitive and finding our profile, even though we've limited it as much as we can in terms of personal info and images. Someone always makes the connection if they look for the right things.
I hope this story goes away as quickly as it arrived. |

How can we respect the press when they have double standards, the truth is "if it sells papers it is good" be that thier sex adverts or saying sex is bad.
As for the couple involved, Just two people who were on here cheating on a partner now facing the consequences of thier actions. Absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for them. |

I have a high profile job and my bosses know what I do. I will never be allowed to appear on television, or in the papers etc. However, if I am ever 'outed' it bears no impact, I am not a risk or open to blackmail as those above me know what I do.
Simple really: If you have a high profile job, tell your bosses. They can't do anything providing you don't flaunt it or get yourself spread all over the papers by being stupid.
After all, there are plenty who swing and hold professional jobs, they just don't do it in such a manner as to disregard their own security.

It appears the wife he left "outed" them,its quite understandable that she bore a grudge.
Its a shame that its pain all around for everyone involved, its also a shame most of societies repressed think (publicly anyway) , that what we do is extreme by societies norm,especially given that sex is such a natural thing to do .
Makes me continue to have empathy for people who decide not to post pics or go to great lengths to hide their location and identity,give what the effect of being outed has been for all involved.

All this disgust at what the papers are saying and how they operate, but I'll bet that most on here that read a newspaper will read one of the "Red Tops" or the allied papers at the weekend!
On another forum, I had a lengthy discussion with a guy who made the point that every weekend, the NotW printed sex sleaze and he hated the way that they tried to "out" swingers. When I told him he was part of the problem, he called me an idiot! (I may be, but NOT on this! )
If you buy a particular paper and it has this kind of story in it, you are telling them this is what you want, so they will do it again.. I know it is a little simplistic, but they put in papers what they deem people want to read!
And that, Folks is why we don't bother with news papers but get our news off two or three sites on the 'Net. We then get a large pinch of salt and make up our own minds...
(PS... I checked "outed" on a spell checker and it came back as "Routed" Perhaps she was getting a good "Routing! ) |

The tabloids can only (to some extent) reinforce and build upon the values and beliefs of a society.... to go too far beyond what already exists will jeopardise their credibility (no – I can’t type ‘credibility’ in the same sentence as ‘tabloids’ without laughing) …. The timing's important too. Today was the last pre-trial appearance for Tommy and Gail Sheridan before their case starts officially a week on Monday.
