You don't need a gym to exercise, simple steps like replacing a short drive for a walk, taking stairs instead of lifts, swim.........
Try and build exercise into your daily routine, couple this with a quality food regime. Simple, non processed foods, cooked from single ingredients.

What are your weaknesses? When do you tend to over eat?
You need to know your triggers in order to start changing your eating habits. |

I recently had to lose weight for health reasons. Have lost 47-ish lbs since the end of August. I did a low fat diet. No more than 3 grams of fat per meal. Weight Watcher snacks. The chocolate biscuits are a fav of mine. Snack a Jacks. Those marshmellow waffer things too. No exercise coz I'm lazy. No ready made microwave meals. No takeaways. Lol. But seriously get in the right frame of mind. Know u will have days when all u want is shit, give in to those cravings, but get straight back on it the next day. |

Tesco value frozen fruit salad-about a pound a bag.
Try to eat seasonally for veg, eat less meat and more veggie meals.
Sugar wise, I used to save all my syns for sweeties or chocolate and then get as much as I could with my syns |

"Thankyou all!! I syruggle with planning meals and affordi g to buy all the fruit, veg and meat. My weekness is sugar!! Xx"
I lost 3.5 stone in 4 months by cutting out most carbs restricting it to 25g per day. I went to the gym 3 days a week and stopped snacking on crap.
Fill yourself up with protein such as chicken. Farmfoods sell 3kg for £10. Some argue it's not the best but on a budget it's perfectly fine.
I work shifts and the big thing for me was good preparation. Invest in Tupperware and If you take 30mins a day to plan tomorrow's meals then it's a case of taking it out the fridge and reheating.
Steam fresh veg and rice are great wee portions of carbs also and again asda do their own range quite cheap.
All in all its about preparation and set yourself goals. You will find you loose weight really quick and crave carbs like there's no tomorrow! God what I would've done for a slice of toast!!! Lol!
That's the easy bit though. Reintroduceing carbs back into your diet takes time and patience but good luck and stay strong. |

Its quite easy, at the end of the day its about calorie control, women need 2000kcal to maintain, 1400kcal aday is the magic number to start losing weight plus do lots of cardio, focus mainly on protein calories, whilst getting the fats from eggs to keep you full, oats in the morning or musli

My sis is a gym buff, she put me on a low carb high protein diet for 2 weeks and I did the Davina work out 6 days a week - in those 2 weeks I lost 11 pounds!
It really is eat less and do more. Stick to clean food - nothing processed. |

A pedometer helps as you can target doing a certain number of steps per day. Then gradually increase it. It sounds silly but things like taking the stairs not the lift all add up. I just saw a Diabetes UK advert - I think it's from Tesco, about getting one for free. Might be worth a look.
I found reducing carbs and making sure they're not the focus of my meal helped, plus using smaller plates. I think it's a case of one step at a time and you can be pleasantly surprised by what you achieve. |

Join pure gym. They start from as little as £14.99 and £10 joining fee. Choose the cheapest one and put Coventry as your second gym. (Coventry is £18.99 and £15 joining fee BTW). If you get a £15 its £3.45 per week, I can't imagine you couldn't afford that... And even if things are very tight I'm sure by cutting out some bad things from your weekly shopping you'd save more than that anyway. There's no contract so u can stop at anytime if you don't like it. If you really can't afford then exercise at home. Run up and down stairs, squats, lungs, sit ups, bicep curls with no resistance to start or cans of beans, walk around the block etc there's lots you can do without the gym.
If you want a diet buddy you can pm me we can swap recipes, discuss exercises and share our weight loss to encourage eat other. Good luck xx |

Everyone is different and what works for one person doesn't work for another as we all have different eating habits good and bad.
My ex was a doctor of nutrition and a lot of that knowledge rubbed off me. I'd be more than happy to give you a few pointers to get you started on the right path.
But like I said what's right for one person isn't right for another so if you want my advice I need you to make a food diary noting down everything you eat and drink this week. Be honest and dont miss anything off. You can PM it me at the end of the week and I will be happy to get you a plan in motion.

try eating really low calorie snacks - i find carrots - mange tout - cucumber - all sweet enough - mind you im not a sugar craver at all - if you go without any at all for a while then you might find it too sweet to eat - i love cheese gave it up for lent once and found it way too salty to eat for ages after - body almost rejected it |

Walk a lot. Keep a food and drink diary (I use an app on my phone) and be brutally honest in it. You'll soon start thinking about what you eat and what triggers over-eating and find it easier to start cutting down. I've dropped 4 dress sizes in a year (on me that's about 4 and a half stone) and haven't done anything other than that. |

We did the 5:2 diet last year and it really did work. I found that it helped because you only had to be strict on two days and I used the fitness pal app which lets you scan the barcodes of foods to work out the calories and portion sizes.
There are quite a few recipes for this diet, although we tended to stick to omelettes on our fasting days. |

Common sense really, Eat less work your body more, but the stuff you are eating make sure it's not the high carb stuff, else you'll be exercising and see no results and it'll make you not want to bother. |

Its the eating i struggle with, love food! Lol x"
Calories in, calories out. It's that simple. If you take in more calories than you burn off then you put weight on. If you burn off more calories than you take in you lose weight.
You may like food but depending on the type and amount you eat it may not love you back.
There's no quick fix. Sustained and sustainable weight management only comes from a complete lifestyle change. If you are unwilling or unable to change your food habits weight loss is unlikely. |

Do you smoke or drink OP? Obviously neither help metabolism and calorie intake, but that's not new advice.
With regards food, just buy what you know is healthy, and don't snack. Exercise more, and do some exercise everyday day, even just walking somewhere instead of getting in your car and driving round the corner etc. |

You can eat really cheaply on slimming world. I've been doing it since September and it's no more expensive than eating other stuff. You just have to shop around. Aldi or lidl for fruit and veg and just get whatever is on offer. 5 huge chicken breasts for £5. That's less than £2 for your main meal by the time you've added your veg/sauce/pasta or whatever. |

The best way to lose weight is to find something you enjoy and want to do, for me it's running whilst listening to music, if you enjoy something it's a lot easier to do than if it's something you don't enjoy. |

Have a look on YouTube for body weight exercises. Some good little routines on there that you can do at home, no equipment necessary. Mountain climbers, planks, burpees, squats etc. Buy a weighted skipping rope, when I'm in the right mood and wanting to drop pounds quickly I skip everyday, like fast continuous skipping.
I'm wallowing in my shit mood at the moment so I'm eating a lot of rubbish but when I shake this off which will be in the next couple of weeks I'll get in shape again!
Eating wise, it's sugar you need to avoid, usually if anything is ready made it's gonna have sugar in it. Fat (some fats) is good for you, try not to eat too much fruit, raw veg is much better, raw carrots, peas in the pod, I'm eating like 7 clementines they can't be doing me and favours but I haven't had a cold over winter!

Can I just say what absolute bullocks that is for some people! I weigh less now than I did when I lived on one meal a day and walked absolutely everywhere.
I actually had to start eating more to loose weight! |

sorry i dont agree with some that say eat less as sooner or later your going to binge on the foods because you have eaten less
my advice is to look at the food that you eat now and then change it
say chips and sausages replaced with just chips but salad in place of the sausages
stay away from the pie edges and just eat the internals
you cant eat 2 fatty stuff in one meal
fish and chips eat the chips but eat the fish insides and dont touch the batter on the fish
its like the weight loss drink as soon as you stop using it you put it back on again
most of the time its just a persons eating habits that need changing but please dont forget your treats as you can have 1 a day or 1 every 2 days take it off slowly than too quickly
without treats you will binge on them with them in moderation and you will enjoy them and keep to your dieting as well |

Celery and if you wish, season it with salt and pepper. It will give a full feeling in the tummy and I read somewhere that it is the only food where the body consumes more calories digesting it than the food itself
Slice it into sticks. Add carrots to your diet. Soon you will feel full enough to not be able to eat the other stuff which is fatty but which tastes good |

I'm a massive sugar addict.
The only things that work for me are to wean myself off it slowly and then go cold turkey.
Cut it all out. The more sugar I eat, the more I want.
And secondly - green smoothies! As long as I have 2-3 green smoothies a day, I don't crave sugar at all really.
No idea why! |

When I first started exercising I was calorie counting as well to lose weight. Was eating considerably less and doing around 3/4 hours or exercise a week. Did I lose any weight?? No! Not one single pound for 3 weeks. Abandoned the calorie counting. Prob eat more now than I did before I started 'dieting' and have lost nearly 2.5 stone!
It's not always about how much you eat, sometimes it's about what you eat as well!! X |

It is all about input vs. output of energy. And if someone here has proven the conservation of energy (energy can neither be created nor destroyed) as a flawed law, then they should contact the IOP and claim their prize |
