Nothing - nada - zilch. Phone goes to a/m after a varying number of rings. No roply to 4 texts always being polite asuming something has happened eg: is everything ok etc only to see them logged online & not even read the message I sent.
I truly hope there is an explination as I'm a nice forgiving guy - just find it selfish not to reply
anyone want my number lol??? |

Think there would be a lot wanting your number especially all the trouble youve gone to. Why dont you go out instead of being stuck in your room and try and have a little fun |

Sort of been there, got invited to a party, 6 weeks warning so booked the day off, 3 days before, got a text to say how much they were looking forward to meeting me, then nothing, no text or message to tell me the details, Sunday they were online as if nothing had happened and no message to apologise or tell me how great the party was
But i do feel for you, had you not been so far, i am home alone and would love the company |

I really do feel for you.
Can we run a book on what the excuse will be?
Dead Grandmother
Car broke down
Forget
Got the date wrong
Couldn't find the hotel
Sister broke her arm
Brother broke his leg
etc............
I have come to the conclusion (old cynic I am), that 99.9% of excuses for not turning up are complete and utter bullshit.
One chance!! |

I always give people the benifit of the doubt - if she wasn't online then maybe - I don't know anymore because I really wanted to see her. Obviously otherwise wouldn't have gone to the trouble lol
I always say treat people & especially friends how you want to be treated yourself!

Admittedly we all do things differently but I don't travel more than three minutes and always meet socially first.
If I'm keen dinner after work, meet at the station so if they don't turn up I can catch my train home, if I'm not entirely sure they're sub lunch/coffee then back to work.
I can see where the excitement of an "illicit" meet appeals but they have to turn up!
Personally this seems like a nasty power trip especially as she was on-line. That said we only have you're view point! You could have been pushy, too intense that made an evening in front of her pc preferable to frollicking in a four poster with you!
Reading between the lines I get the impression you'd readily do the same again as you like her.
Better luck next time! |

A pretty photograph on a screen is just that if the person sending it isn't the person in the photo.
It's a real shame that timewasters like this can't be exposed and banned as it undermines the whole community on here. |

It crossed my mind that I may have been too forward or intense so one of my texts said so & suggested we go to a near by village for a meal (the evening was still young enough) not assuming anything. Still no reply.
About timewasting - hmm she is verified by other people on here who are in turn verified so Im sure she is genuine. That's one of the things that makes me feel bad! I feel guilty for some stupid reason as if I've scared her or pushed too much -it's the not knowing. If I know about it I can do something about it!!!
Oh well, tis the morning after the night before. Not even a notion to have a ham shank but I know a couple who are quite close & although couldn't do anything last night...........
Well let's say my single cylinder 2 stroke is primed lol (btw it takes more than just 2 stroke - Im not a premature guy lol)

And don't let it put you off doing it again

Looking at it from another perspective.
I believe it is acceptable to pull out right at the last minute for whatever reason(s).
However, if money has already been spent, then I believe it is common courtesy to offer to split the cost.
Not to inform the other person why the no show, and no attempt to make amends by offering to split the cost incurred, lacks good grace.
I would give that person a good piece of my mind, before hitting the block button, assuming I had not been blocked by this time. |

I totally agree - everyone is entitled to say no
let's face it without consent it's something far worse!
Yes the money is a factor but not a hurdle. Wasn't expecting 50/50 it was at my expense. Maybe that was one issue??
Im still 'friends' & still want to meet potentially if the reason for not coming follows - but as yet nothing & my messages deleted

To the OP reading your posts on the forums you come across as an ok guy.
That said, for some of us, it doesn't take much to put you off someone, ignore them and delete the messages. I've done it myself, and the person never quite got why because he was an "ok bloke" and didn't think he'd done anything wrong.
I met someone for dinner to see how we got on. He walked in front of me into the restaurant, didn't leave the door open for me, when we were seated, promptly ordered his drink before I'd sat down. He talked about all the gorgeous women he'd been with...when I pulled him up about his behaviour, he laughed and said "you're not my date!" Therefore I didn't deserve common courtesy and respect?!!
When he went to the loo I left!
He kept calling, saying why did I walk out after a wonderful evening!!!
My point is for this woman to blank you she must have felt uncomfortable with how you were acting, and if you don't feel comfortable with someone I wouldn't meet them in a hotel either.
The fact you still want to meet her makes me question if you are perhaps a little too pushy and full on, because to be honest I wouldn't give someone another chance if they acted like she did!!
Just my thoughts! |
