Firstly, we've never been *but* after reading on here and checking the website, we were wondering why the dresscode for men is a towel!?!

Why are women allowed to wear basically whatever they want and blokes have to be reduced to a towel (or shorts, as if...).

Some men actually like to look good.

What a strange idea.

What would you/your man like to wear?

My Husband tends to start off in shorts but then after we use the jacuzzis he just stays in his towel.

Nicely constructive, thanks, we'll never post a question here again. God forbid we ask peoples opinions and thoughts, especially those that have been.

Sigh. Honestly.

I think he might be a tad warm in that if I'm honest. I find it really warm in there when just wearing a little babydoll.

I also think some might find that kind of dress intimidating. The shorts/towell/underwear type attire is a great leveller.

"The shorts/towell/underwear type attire is a great leveller."

I do understand that, in all honesty, but it just seems a little, I don't know... sexist.

And yes I do understand that "many" men won't care so long as they get a shag, as stated.

Perhaps I really don't understand the swinger club mentality, I'm more than prepared to accept that, given I have no experience - so when i see something that seems strange, I ask for guidance not out of blind ignorance, but out of interest.

BTW. heat is always a problem. Fetish clubs, well,, you can imagine how they get!

I quite like the chams dress code how it is. I think it helps everyone to relax and the easier access the better in my opinion Plus we love using the jacuzzis so we wouldn't want to be wearing anything that takes an age to get in and out of all the time.

I can see why fetish clubs would be different and as HPC said, dress clubs do exist too.

Well none of this was really about having the bodies, my point was that some people - men and women - wouldn't be comfortable being "forced" into a way of dressing.

But then, as said, personal preference and these people wouldbn't go to the club!

I've agreed with your every point on this so far.

I believe women's dress is overlooked by club owners due to supply and demand nothing more.

If they put their foot down the women - as most wont walk around in a towel - or naked - will stay away.

I'd rather see the men dressed up too. Incredibly horny atmosphere then. As it stands the last club I went to had an atmosphere akin to the local swimming pool and smelled a darn sight mustier.

I seem to remember reading, it might have been Chams FAQ’s the idea of the dress code is to get rid of ‘class’. Where you say ‘the fems can wear anything’ I think it suggests ‘dressed to impress’ on a very sexual theme. So the pearls and Gucci handbag stays at home and the Primark fraternity are all on an equal footing.

The thing is that while it may get rid of "class" (not sure how though) alls it does is reduce women to wearing cheap crap that's easily replaced and men to wearing towels.

Why not just say "naked" and have done with it. Or put everyone in towels.

More to the point if women can "dress to impress sexually" why can't men?

And the reason: men cant be arsed, isn't a good one.

Taken one step further, is the towel actually encouraging selectiveness?

What if mr egyptian in the above was a toned, 6 foot greek god and the ASDA guy was 47 stone and built like a trifle?

Which would you select?

But if both were given the chance to dress to impress, you might actually have to talk to them!

it depends why they bought the towels they did. mr egyptian might have received his as a gift and his idea of dressing to impress might be a sunday market special.

Mr asda however might believe that it's better to invest more money into his day clothes than a towel which is potentially going to get wet and messy in a club.

Personally I wouldn't judge on the clothes as they don't really mean anything.

I just like how the chams dress code helps to make things feel more relaxed in there.

I'm not into the fetish scene myself but understand that we are all individuals with differents tastes and preferences.

I love going to Chameleons, the relaxed atmosphere is a major attraction.

I've never been to a fetish club, but would be happy to try it, and I accept that to gain entry to it, I'd probably have to dress to suit, lol, and I wouldn't mind sampling the experience.

All I would say to the OP is go along and try it, you can wear a pair of shorts, rubber or pvc if you like.

I think Chams would be tolerant if you went dressed in fetish gear, I think they only insist that you don't wear "outdoor" clothes. I have seen guys dressed in pvc or rubber vests tops, not many, but I have seen them. Not all the guys are bare chested either, most of the times I've been, someone has worn a top.

Give them a call and ask the question, what do you have to lose? It's a great club, and I think you really will be missing out if you choose to avoid it.

For the type of club Chams is its more pratical for you to wear a towel if your going to use all the facilities (it being a spa based club) I used to be very self aware when we first started going but now it dosent bother me as has been already said its a great leveler and we love it. We have noticed that on some Monday nights the dress code has been a bit more relaxed for guys but only if you want to wear a frock

There are other non spa clubs out there so its not the norm

Agree too. It does make you feel vulnerable if that happens.

I feel people who just want to look around should only be allowed to at a certain time of day if punters are in and they shouldn't STAY for a drink OR they should be in a fairly external bar area ....sort of like a pre lounge ..... if you get my drift.

At my local club that I go to, on greedy girl nights they are people to go in towels in the play areas only.... anywhere else it is what you like...

I am quite body conscious... so would i be allowed to wear a towel and a t shirt?

Only if orange and hawaiien, I think.

Or from the Tescos School range."

"Agree too. It does make you feel vulnerable if that happens.

I feel people who just want to look around should only be allowed to at a certain time of day if punters are in and they shouldn't STAY for a drink OR they should be in a fairly external bar area ....sort of like a pre lounge ..... if you get my drift. "

That's a good idea. I know everyone has to have a first time and it can be quite nerve wrecking when you first go to these places. I'm sure some of the regulars wouldn't mind going through and having a chat with them or taking a bit more time to show someone around than the staff do. I certainly wouldn't mind helping someone feel their way on their first visit.

Do you know, I'm amazed it took this for someone to actually point this fairly important fact

Why! You said you had read their website, it clearly states that it is a sauna based club in the first sentence and it had already been mentioned on this thread once"

i have read right through this thread and no one mentioned it was spa based before.

But you didnt start a thread based on the fact that you had checked out the website and it HAD been mentioned on this thread that it was a sauna based club which it states in the first sentence on its website.

Diamond smiles did mention it being a spa club earlier in the thread and there were references to the jacuzzis too. I don't think it's an unfair assumption to make considering portugal said she'd visited their website.

"What would you/your man like to wear?

My Husband tends to start off in shorts but then after we use the jacuzzis he just stays in his towel.

Well I quite like him in a full latex skirt and top with knee high boots. He looks good, sexy and not one-of-many."

He could wear that outfit on a Monday night at Chameleons.

And....... Chameleons does not just have a towel policy because it is a sauna based club, but also because wearing a towel or sexy undies actually takes away the class culture that other clubs seem to thrive on.

We've been to Liberty Elites and found it to be full of the most pretentious, egotistical, up their own arses people who are full of nouveau snobbery.

So we don't go there anymore.

There are plenty of clubs to chose one......... if anyone does not li,e the towel culture....... just don't go to Chameleons.

simple

Why are women allowed to wear basically whatever they want and blokes have to be reduced to a towel (or shorts, as if...).

What a strange idea."

There are those of us that have been going to Chameleons since it opened and find it to be the best club........

There are some that pop in occassionally who find it to be just another night out.

There are those that go just for the social meets.

Your sentence of "What a strange idea" is what has (in my opinion) got peoples backs up.

Chameleons is one of the (if not THE) most successful club(s) in Britain.

To you, it may be strange, but to them and to many many others......... it's got it exactly right!

Newport chameleons and darlaston chameleons are absolutly nothing alike, newport chameleons isnt a place i would personally go apart from to a social. I dont think you can compare the two. The new sun deck in itself at darleston is amazing although they have to sort the first step out

I go to Chams every week. The majority fo men do wear a towel, some wear shorts or boxers, one guy even walked around stark naked all night. On a monday night ive seen guys with clothes on, but these tend to be lingerie items or skirts / womens clothes etc, as its bi night.

it is very hot in Chams, even if they allowed men to remain dressed, they wouldnt be able to stand it, its too hot.

We have been to a club where the guys had to remain clothed, the women could wear either evening dress or lingerie. It was a fantastic place and I love dressing up etc, but my guy felt too restricted in clothes. For reasons of playing, its annoying to keep getting dressed and undressed, and in places like the dark room etc, where it got very hot, my guy felt a bit restricted in his trousers and shirt and women just unzipping and getting his cock out, he just wanted to be free from clothes and its easy to drop a towel etc. There was also a full sized swimming pool and jacuzzis in this place, and it was annoying getting dressed again after the water.

What kind of clothes were you wanting to wear.

HI

we went to chams once

and it is the only club we have ever been asked to leave

we made the mistake of going with friends and not looking at the web site and presumed it was similar to other clubs we went to

but on this night at chams i wore a thin LBD, very strappy and sweet and my friend wore basque and leather skirt

anyway after a drink and a look around they informed my hubby that us ladies and men had to remove our clothing or we had to leave

we left

havent been back since as we prefer clubs where the dress code is sexier than towells and where it isnt as hot

Thats odd in relation to Chams because I go there every week and Ive seen women wearing dresses and lingerie. In fact I do it myself. I wouldnt wear a towel cos dressing up is part of the swinging lifestyle for me. I am a corset lover so I will wear a corset and knickers and stockings, or ive worn a ballerina tutu, ive worn babydolls, well you name it, ive worn it. Ive never ever been told to remove clothing and put a towel on.

I agree though that all clubs should have a wear what you like dress code, its not as if any of us are gonna be shocked is it.
