Went to a party last weekend, been there before with our satnav, so it knew the way.
Going along the M4 it suddenly decided we needed to be going the other way!!!!! It kept telling me to turn around, and wanted to send us 57 miles away from our intended destination.
I had to pull over when we we near our destination and re-enter the postcode, which was exactly the same as it already had, and it then took us happily to the party...... still havent figured out what went wrong???
Fekkin crapnavs lol! |

My father in law is the biggest technophobe I know (and thats saying something cos all I have to do is walk in a room and computers crash!!) and hopeless at directions, so my mother in law got him a top of the line sat nav thingy.
He did the right thing (for once) and read the instructions before doing anything.
It said plug into PC, he did, switch on, he did - it said "turn right" he phoned Steven in a panic cos he was in his bedroom!!
My mates dad is another one who has a sat nav and his is even worse. My mate collected me from hospital (St Johns in Livingston no one knew the way) we got half way home and it decided to take us miles out the way and then tell us to do a u-turn on a dirt road with huge metal fences on either side needless to say I phoned Steven and got him to direct us back via a map online.

And isn't it funny, you stop the car, ask someone for directions and you always seem to hit on the person that says, "Sorry, but I'm not from this area" |

That's usually me .. since I moved up here I've been asked loads of times if I know where this is or that is and when I answer "I'm sorry, no" in my cockney accent they look at me like I'm a martian lol |

"Mine tells me about speed cameras that aren't there, which I don't mind so much, but it doesn't tell me about speed cameras that ARE. Grrrrr "
You need to get the d/b updated Wishy lol.
Ours was updated 3 weeks ago, but still had loads of temp speed cams listed on the M6, North of Birmingham that had actually been taken down, but it never missed a cam that was actually there.
Tom Tom is what we have - seems ok and up to date |

When I say up to date, at least, as they say on the railways, "It's a right side failure"
Shows the cams that are there, and also the ones that are not .. |

Ya tight git, spend the bloody 15 quid and get a years subscription or stick to the speed limit
Joking aside tho, I could probably send you the Tom Tom One backup file but whether it would install on a different unit who knows ?? It may have some kind of protection ??

Not exactly TomToms fault, but who in their right mind builds two Premier Inns on the same road within a mile of each other?
Cue confusing phone call, "We're standing at the bar"... "No you're not"... |

Stick to the speed limits and you shouldn't need to worry about the speed cameras. |

Best one's are when you cup your fart then throw it in your missus face.

The TomTom units are notorious for the company not updating the files regularly, therefore if you pay the subscription to them for the updates, they could be weeks out of date anyway! Even the map updates are not done with any conviction. We travel on a new piece of motorway in Spain quite often, its been there since 2006, its still not been updated on the TT maps!
I use a satnav forum called gpsworld, cheaper to subscribe for speed cameras then TomTom and they are updated every wednesday without fail. When you have to navigate through France with all the cameras they have, its well worth it! |
