Theres no way I would pay more than £2 for a coffee so for me it has to be a lovely cafe.

Malvern has a super one

shame hes not open until 5 or so cos I would love one of his all day breakfasts and huge mugs of coffee most days around now

I think i'd use a privately owned cafe rather than a coffee shop chain - small business is difficult enough! Z

Both would sell tea and other drinks too though and some people would maybe go in just because they do good food, cakes, etc

Trouble is in the big shopping centres it is getting harder to find little independent cafes as only the big companies can afford the high rents.

I tend not to go into the big shopping centres - they're all exactly the same - like to do High Streets and use the small independent shops - there won't be any left soon! Z

I'm the same

just use the side roads and there are independant businesses crying out for your custom and often offering a much more personal service...where everybody knows your name etc

It does'nt take a huge ammount of effort to avoid the high st

and the rewards are great

Oh yes...

It all depends how muddy i am, if filthy i don't like to sit in a nice shop amidst all the daytrippers so i'll sit outside the pub and not annoy people!

Coffee Kali in Hebden does wonderful cake!

That's why i'm off road dear!

If i stuff up and hurt myself it's my fault and nobody else gets hurt - only have the one though as i get too 'brave' after two and attempt to ride stuff beyond my skill levels!

If a road ride then strictly coffee & cake.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

If I have to, I use a supermarket and get a pot of tea. Brew it to your own strength and taste, cheap enough too! Otherwise, it`s coffee from my flask!

I don't like cafes so it would be coffee shops for me if I didn't resent paying a king's ransom for a cappuccino. My daughter lives in Starbuck's on my money!

I've invested in an all singing all dancing coffee machine: much cheaper!

If we're in Amsterdam, then most definitely a coffeeshop. In England, a good old British cafff (usually run by Greeks or Turks!), but they make a bloody good cup of tea, strong enough to sluice the grease of the bacon butty-fat off your pipes!
