~~ The way the forums used to be, they just seem full of fights, one upmanship,and agendas recently.
Maybe its me, but it seems to have lost some "sparkle".

It's definitely missing some fun characters but all forums are cyclical and there are times it really just works well . Maybe we're all stuck in that winter gloom and come spring we'll be extra perky again  |

such is life!! but there always someone even when a post has decended into all out war who try and lighten things up a wee bit!!
i miss a few of the old posters and i enjoy havin a debate with a few of the new ones!!
most of the regular posters know the score and do look out for newbies xx |

I'm not sure what it used to be like as I'm new to the forums but I find it a fascinating mix of funny sparkly threads and interesting controversial ones. Its great there is a place where people can express their opinions on such a wide range of topics and have those views challenged and have time to re-evaluate those views. And they are a great opportunity to interact with a wide variety of people with a common interest. |

Its not the same as it used to be and funnily enough, I was chatting to another oldie forumite about this the other night.
We seem to have a lower percentage of oldies, more newbies and a mixed percentage of windup merchants and attention seekers.
I promise...... when I get back from my hols....... the Pussy Posse and the Doris's will spar again.......
And yet AGAIN, the Pussy Posse will win... |

The forums seem to have developed a bit of a "personality" of their own...
The Lounge seems to be the cranky old man sat in the corner of the pub.... happily arguing with anyone within earshot.
The intros forum seems to be the "new kid on the block", bright eyed and bushy tailed, keen and enthusiastic.

Thank you Zoe I found the perfect thing all bright pink and sparkly huge big giant bow, matched me slippers and houserobe to a t!!
Actually Im quite scared that I have a bobble that matches me baffies need coffee to make me human again before I do something real daft like wear the damn thing

I too miss the forums of old, when it was fun, fluffy and pleasant.
Hopefully, those who make the playground unpleasant will soon get bored with lack of response and go away to find new playgrounds. |

As a relative newby to this site and the forums, I don't know what they were like before but I have found that the more contentious the thread, the more heated they get and some people take so much to heart.
Life is too short, enjoy it while you can is my motto and try to see the funny side.
SMILE it takes less muscles to smile than frown so why waste the energy.
