Listen up, I'm an eggspert on this:
The first chicken egg was laid by its parent but it's parent was not a chicken. The egg that contained the first chicken was an evolved new species from it's parent. Therefore, if the animal that hatched from the egg was a chicken, then the egg that contained it was a chicken egg. Thus the egg came first. Simples. |

mmmmmmm except that evolution into a new species cannot happen in one generation ..... which begs the question - When was the dawn of Chickendom ? At what point did what ever it was become a chicken ? I'm gonna answer my own Q here......
Reasoning goes..... At some point - due to evolution ..... the chicken became - it then laid an egg ..... so the chicken came first.... DONT say where did the chicken come from .... Ive just said .. it hatched from a not quite a chicken egg.... I think... |

Since DNA can be modified only before birth, a mutation must have taken place at conception or within an egg such that an animal similar to a chicken, but not a chicken, laid the first chicken egg. I was just about to say similar but opposite to what Wishy has posted.
I was thinking that perhaps evolution has changed the chicken into what it is now, and that before hand, as the chickens where then perhaps no eggs were involved in birthing matters, maybe they began to lay eggs as they changed into chickens. |

Ahhhhhh, but yesterdays lunch and dinner were before todays breakfast weren't they, so if you go back day after day using the same logic, then right back to when you were born Polo, 20 odd years ago, then your first meal would depend on the time of day you were born. |
