I was 18 when I had my daughter, I remember people having a gossip about it etc. But I think me and the ex hubby coped well. My daughter was well mannered, did well at school and collage. She's nearly 28 now a mother herself, I couldn't be any more prouder of her. |

I've always been of the opinion that a woman should wait until she's a fully responsible, mature adult before bringing sprogs into the world...therefore, I shall possibly be looking at IVF sometime in the 2040's when I'm grown up enough |

Haven't had a child as such but became a mother aged 30 which for me was late as I always wanted children young but it wasn't meant to be. Looking back I'm glad it didn't I was far too selfish when I was younger!! |

Cheekychops, have you been to have a blood test and scan? If you're worried about how long you have on your clock then it's worth asking for this, particularly with your previous pregnancy history.
I got pregnant on just about every contraception I used but I couldn't carry to term. I had also made the decision that I would not try after 40.

I was 18 when I got pregnant and miscarried the first time. After that I always said I didn't want children but changed my mind when I met my hubby.
I met my husband at 29 and was pregnant 4 months later at 30.
I'm now 38 and we still have no children. The chances of a successful pregnancy are very slim for us and we've had to learn to accept that we will never have a family. |

I was 26 when I had my son having been told the previous year after tests that there was very little chance of getting pregnant due to a blocked tube and the other one very badly scarred - my now ex husband thought by saying we would try would keep me happy as he had 2 from first marriage (he didn't want anymore) - he was shocked when I got pregnant on first attempt. My son is 19 later this week and I love him so much and so proud of him. When I left my first husband, he thought that 'letting me try for another child' would make me stay.....no way! Decided not to try with my 2nd husband as we already had a child each and looking back, I'm glad we made that decision as we aren't together now. I don't want anymore as at 45, I feel I'm getting too old and want to enjoy my partner's grandkids |

I second this. Hubby & I wanted to be sensible and wait until we were married to start trying. 2 years into trying, we find out i'm early menopause (through follicle scan & bloods). 2 years, 1 unsucessful and 1 successful (but miscarried) IVF later, i'm showing signs of that early menopause starting. I'm 33 also.
We'll have 1 more go at IVF but it's probably too late for me. I wish we'd known that 10 years ago.
I would always encourage a woman to go and get checked - even if you're not sure just yet. I know i'm a rare case but leave it thinking it's OK, and you may not be left with a choice. There really is nothing worse than having than choice taken away from you.

My ex mrs was pregnant with twins, which we lost.
Afterwards, they unfortunately had to take away her ability to bear children and it was at that point that I kinda resigned myself to being a fantastic uncle instead |

28 for our first after 8 years of trying, medical intervention was necessary, loads of different types of drugs and having to jab myself in the arse with a javelin sized needle
And 34 for the 2nd, after a further 4 years of drugs and needles. Love them both to bits and they were worth every minute of stress and worry I had.
I still mean it at the end of Half-Term week

The more interesting question about age is not when you had your child, but are you still with the father?? I'll bet a higher percentage of the younger ones aren't. As you get older you learn what you want from life so are more likely to pick a partner you'll stay with
(Yes there'll be exceptions so don't get your knickers in a twist, folks!!!) |
