"Sea snot "
Cockles….and not those tiny ones you can buy in a bag/jar of vinegar…. I mean BIG cockles, raked from the sand and boiled (after feeding them porridge oats to clear the sand and crap out of them). They look like the result of a failed experiment to cross alien DNA with that of a chicken…. Taste lovely though! |

Snails, no not the nicely prepared l'escarot but straight out of the drains.
I was about 4 years old and Mom used to buy us winkles from the winkle man who came round the doors, some time later we found what we thought were winkles in the street drains and were so pleased that we could get free winkles ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

Sea anemone (delicacy in Greece) tastes and looks like the contents of a bronchitics handkerchief.

My mum used to cook lights, curried with loads of garlic: disgusting. She also made this porridge with corn meal with bits of corn in it that my sisters and I would call the teeth porridge: yuk! |
