So. I decided not to be a lazy fat mare anymore and start to to something about it. I've started walking this week, I want to gradually build myself up so that I can go for a run without experiencing a significant cardiac event. Ive walked 9.6 miles in two days, good start I think? Now who wants to come massage my feet?

I have a dog, I took him last night, he was knackered when we got in bless him. He slows me down though because he likes to sniff every blade of grass

I do have one somewhere. Maybe in the loft lol. I think I'll pop down the local nail salon and have a pedicure. Least I wont have to touch them myself!

Well done you for working towards being healthier

I do weight lifting 4 times a week and I'm thinking of doing the couch to 5k programme as i like to do the race for life. Would be nice to run the whole thing for a change!

Go onto the nhs direct website and there is a 9 week programme called 'couch to 5k' which aims to get the average person running 5k by the end of the 9 weeks

I downloaded it to my iPod and bingo. Only downside is I fractured my foot and am currently in a cast

The 2 events are unconnected

If you have a smartphone down load couch to 5k app. I've done 2 'runs' so fat and did 4.5 mins of running the first day then 6 the next time. Not bad for someone at least 9stone overweight

Definitely, just be sure to take your time and build up slowly - you don't want blisters and tired ankles stopping your before you've even started.
