Going to a posh pub and having either scampi in a basket or chicken in a basket.
Also what was the first "foreign,"food you had?.
I remember a lad taking me for scampi and chips, well before pubs served food.
First "foreign,"food I had was Chinese. There was a Chinese in my town and sometimes my dad would bring one home and I was allowed to get up and have a bit. zid be 7/8 |

Probably curry goat with rice and peas. Still one of my favourite take aways. |

My mum & dad were from other countries so i had tried varied food early on.
My diet is quite simple these days though.
I wish there were more Mexican restaurants here, like there are in U.S.
(My mum & dad weren't mexican, I just love mexican food.) |

I grew up in one of the most diverse areas of Manchester so I think "foreign" food was always part of my diet and my mum was always quite adventurous with what we ate so I don't really remember a first time that stands out. |

My mum cooked lots of very unusual things for a British white woman from North Yorkshire. I grew up on a diet of Jamaican rice and peas, plantain curry, and various lentil based dishes.
As an adult, I've come to realise she'd never tasted the real things before attempting the recipes herself, bless her... |

Foreign food was a curry with mates, we were out with one of the guys older brother. Took us to the Indian. Didn't want to look like a wimp so had a vindaloo. Not a smart move. Didn't put me off lol |
