Whats the most daring thing you've done recently?Something out of your comfort zone that you've tried and actually enjoyed or something someone has dared you to do that gave you a thrill.Can be sexual or non sexual 😊  |

Nothing daring but probably stupid - I've signed up to do a half off-road marathon.
I hate running and haven't done any real exercise in a decade - still I've got 3 months to get in some sort of shape to avoid a cardiac arrest  |

I had a WhatsApp™ voice call with Willy Idol last Thursday. It lasted just over an hour. He talks a lot but says very little. And what very little he does say makes even less sense. His 'up north' accent is indiscernible which doesn't help matters.

In terms of non sexual, I climbed to the peak of Snowdon during heavy rain, very limited visibility, and a thunderstorm with some friends. It was very daring and stupid, coulda died on so many occasions, but it was worth it when we got above the low clouds. |

Managed to get close and calm and train a very aggressive Belgium Malinois no other trainer could get close to and refused to work with, the boy is doing great now, no aggression when out and no lead pulling . This dog was nearly put to sleep a few weeks ago. |

I used to be a bit of a wild one in my youth. Many mishaps along tbe Road that I was fortunate enough to walk away from. I'm more measured these days so do better risk assessments before embarking on the foolishness |

I don't see it as daring, but it is a big deal, going to straight bars in glam mode and also walking 3/4 of a mile or so through a busy city centre full of nightlife to get from where I parked for free to the actual bars in question  |

Bought a new more classic shaped swimming costume too replace the very demure one I had been using, wore it to the pool and sauna then washed my hair in the open shower in the ladies changing.
In the current political climate even with proof I've changed gender, that's potentially very dangerous indeed.
Just a simple thing like going swimming and washing.

You can get different training plans online for free that can be suitable for differing levels of running experience. You can get plans over 12 to 14 weeks typically, although many will presume some sort of running experience to gauge your target training times from.

No I suffer with motion sickness and even with the tablets I took buy the time we got up I felt sick. And buy the time I got back down I had no colour. I was not sick but its not nice. |

Further to my wife's answer, I'm going to say that it will depend a lot on what you mean by non sporty. You could be completely non sporty but used to working 6 days a week as a scaffolder or being 8 stone overweight and never moving more than from the couch to the fridge. It also depends on what you mean by running a half, and what half you choose (hilly and/or trail is going to be harder.
Making a few assumptions that you're not obese, have relatively good health, have never run before, want to 'run' the half (not run bits, walk bits) and don't want to spend a week in pain after, I'd say about 4 - 5 months. Could you do it quicker? Definitely - but there's an increased risk of injury. You're going to want a weekly mileage of around 20 miles before a half becomes a reasonably achievable run distance. A couch to 5k program is going to take 8 weeks. At the end of that you'll be doing about 8 miles a week. Increasing this at no more than 10% per week pushes you out to about 18 weeks.

Not recent but the most daring thing I've ever done - or at least the one that took the most amount of breathing back fear, was stepping off a nice solid piece of rock on Aonoch Mor onto a face covered in melting, slushy snow with a 30 meter run out to a scary looking cornice.

I've used to work for Cape Town Marine Law Enforcement dealing with poachers. That was pretty daring, esp for someone like me who was/is a terrible shot  |

It was, by far my favourite job - added to that I'm just over 5ft. Not sure how threatened anyone felt by me?
Also I was pretty much the only one to have a legitimate driving licence. Lots of my colleagues bought theirs on the black market. But bc i wasn't a national i wasn't allowed to drive bc of high speed chases (despite the fact they drive on the same side of the road!) |
