So if you’re having a down day…. How do you motivate yourself out of it ?

Exercise, friends, food, wine. The same recipe as for happiness, but on sad days one must make the effort to relish the identical prescription.

Do things to keep myself busy....gaming, housework, go for a walk or visit friends and family.

I embrace it. Play sad songs, have a quiet day. It’s ok to feel it. For a bit anyway.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all motivates me on my down days. I just kinda become a shell. Just a body that walks and talks. Lights are on but no one's home kind of thing

I don't try to force myself out of it as I'd just get cross and frustrated with myself. I do comforting things, talk to lovely people, and know that it'll pass.

I jump into the ‘cockpit’ of my simulator, and go ‘flying’. A bit of dogfighting, and blowing shit up distracts my mind perfectly.

Stay in the sad space for a while. Then literally get up, put one foot in front of the other and get on with it.

The alternative isnt the way I operate.

I used to wallow in it and not talk to anyone. I liked it like that. Then I'd be fine by the next day.

Now I live with a little person I can't and generally don't have down days anyway.

I don’t, I let myself feel sad for however long I need. I know it’ll pass eventually.

This is my thing too. Some melancholy music, or a film that gets to the heart; cleanse the soul.

I can choose to sit with sadness. Work out why it's made an appearance and manage that.

Sadness is allowed to hang around for a bit. Then I'll choose to move it on.

Just flash your awesome physique at it. It can't compete with that

I cry, usually put on a sad film guaranteed to help the tears.

I let myself have a day of wallowing and then I just get on with it.

Cuddles with hubby while I'm wallowing help a lot.

Recently started writing down 3 things that happened every day that were good. They don't have to be big things...to try to take the focus off the negatives 🥰

I know this sounds as cheesy as feck but.

I stare in a mirror and say today is just tomorrow's yesterday ovèr and over untill I get out of my funk. Usually takes no more than 10 times.

We have to remember as well that there is no point in worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. Or something that has already happened for that matter. We have no control over either. They are both only relevant because we are giving them relevance.
