Somewhere In The Ether…

Ow do good folks 🤘🏻

Today I’d like to talk about buckets.

Buckets are interesting aren’t they?

They can hold so many things; Water, soil and even vomit.

So…..How many buckets do you own?

What do you put in them?

Do you have any ingenious tips regarding bucket storage?

‘Kicking the bucket’ is a most curious euphemism for a person buying the farm….which itself is another most curious euphemism.

Finally, in accordance with the much cherished nursery rhyme, do you have a hole in any of your buckets?

All things bucket: Please discuss 🪣👍🏻

At this point in my life I don't own a bucket but have owned some previously, a black one and an orange one both with handles.

There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,

There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

Then mend it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,

Then mend it, dear Henry, dear Henry, mend it.

I just bought a bucket to mix wallpaper paste in.

When I say ‘just’ I mean like a month ago and it’s still sat there waiting for me to mix wallpaper paste in it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have a fold up bucket that I can flat pack and tuck away by the washing machine, no idea why I bought it, but maybe it will come in handy one day 😅

I must go through 50 or so a year, part due to laziness and not cleaning them or the handle snapping out the plastic when it’s full of mortar, but for 2 quid a piece can’t complain

I can remember what my dad said before he kicked the bucket.

"Son" he said, his hand on my shoulder, to emphasise what he was about to tell me.

"look how far I can kick this bucket"

On Holibobs

I use the flexi buckets when feeding the angry woolen beasties as I can carry a few more then, trying to carry a few of the normal round buckets is a logistical nightmare.
