Its been a year since we started our adventure into the world of swinging, and for the most part, its been fun, fun, fun!

We joined FAB, which is probably the best move we made, and are regulars in the chatrooms, whilst I (Martin) also have become quite a regular poster in the forums.

Recently, I have noticed a bit of a pattern emerging, and, as I am never shy in jumping in with both size nines, I thought I would comment on it, as I think it needs to be said, so, here goes......

There are some that berate others in the forums who post "whinges", subjects that have been done (sometimes lots) before, and so on, the list is endless.

The worst offenders for this are some (but by no means all) of the more regular forumites, who seem to have no respect for newbies, those not familiar with the forums etc, and those who just want to have a bit of a rant.

These "growlers" seem to have taken it upon themselves to dictate to others just what people can, or cant, say on the forums.

As far as I am aware, that job falls to the mods, who, on the whole, do a reasonable job. one or two do seem to get a bit carried away sometimes with closing down the odd innocous thread or two, but it should be left to them to decide who should be told when they have crossed the line.

Too often, threads are closed down not because of the subject matter therein, but because these "rogue elements" start to have a pop, and the thread decends into a bit of a free-for-all as others leap to the OP's defence.

So, if you suddenly think "Does he mean me?", then, chances are its a possible yes, and you need to take a fekkin chill pill, step back, and let some wind out of your over-inflated ego my friend!!!

The forums are there for all and sundry to use, for whichever subjects they choose, and for others to debate the points raised.... if you dont like it, dont post, you muppet!!!

ARRRRGGGHHH......... and, breath in, breath out, and..... relax!!!

If you have a problem, I would suggest taking it up with the instigators.

I am presuming you are actually having a go at 1 particular member and it is probably our leader.

You have to remember that some of the regular members on here are the ones that put the effort in to bring the community together, organise the socials and ensure that everyone on here, possibly after some steep learning curves, actually become better swingers. They are the ones who take the time to privately speak to new people and reassure them, who also take them to clubs and parties and who make the time to speak to them.

Yes there have been a rack of 'of dear are we going through this old chestnut again' threads but people would soon be posting that they are being ignored if the regular forumites didn't put in their two pence worth and if they get shirty doing that, then tough.

Nice rant by the way for NYE. Sounds to me like someone isn't getting his leg over tonight, otherwise, why the tirade.

I feel that PM'ing someone to have a pop at them is counter-productive, this way it makes people sit back and question whether they are one of the so called "growlers", and perhaps it will give them a new perspective on how others may perceive what they write.

I wasn't moaning, I was having a bit of a rant, with the best of intentions, in that I had hoped that some would chill out a little and let those who post in the forums do so safe in the knowledge that they aren't going to get "kneecapped" just for posting!!

The last two paragraphs were a "wake up" call to those who might think that they are the "ofenders" for want of a better word. I tried to make it a "blanket call" rather than being specific, as I didnt want to ofend any individuals.

I was hoping to leave it up to their own conciences to make the judgement call on whether or not they were in need of the mythical "chill pill".

I am not in the habit of "looking for a fight" there is enough hassle in ordinary life without courting it here, I just resented the 'blanket call' and accusations of being muppets... it's really a great welcome to the new posters in the forums. An example of how not to resolve ones grievances.

No, I was the one that tried to voice (quite a number of) other peoples concerns that time was ticking on, and that other things had been planned which had a "time critical" aspect about them. Obviously as a non-neutral observer of the ensuing spat, you have taken one side, but I equally could line up a load of people who knew all the aspects of what occured and who were applled at the way in which I was treated.

Many decided to pull out of the "auction", and its only because I asked them as a favour to me not to that so many didnt.

As for making out that I am the "head of the swingers police", if you read the origional post you will see that I said that it should be up to the mods to "police" the posts.

"Its been a year since we started our adventure into the world of swinging, and for the most part, its been fun, fun, fun!

ARRRRGGGHHH......... and, breath in, breath out, and..... relax!!! "

Mart your so masterful in ere lol xxxx

To the OP:

You started a post that was aimed at any regular who criticises a newbie for not reading the forum for old and done-to-death postings before starting a new thread on a well discussed subject.

You then insulted the Mods by suggesting that they should be the ones who should police the forums yet you took this task upon yourself to do their job for them.

You were then taken to task about an off-forum event that had no place on here. If something transpired at a social then it should have been dealt with there and then and not opened up on here, for people who weren't there to pass comment on.

And that is why I think you started this thread in the first place.

You knew that by targetting a certain individual without actually naming him/her would bait that person into responding and that's when you used this forum to air your personal grievances, and that is despicable.

You then threw your toys completely out of the pram by flouncing out of your own thread.

I think you have summed up this entire thread in one sentence:

""better to say nothing and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt"!"

".........but I'm sure the OP could have found words to express his valid points without the need to insult and belittle other forum users: oh the irony of the post!

Wouldn't that have defeated the purpose of the post??????"

Not if you're claiming the moral high ground! Ironic doing the same thing you're accusing others of.

Wow, what a fun thread, NOT!

FAB is no different to all the forums I belong to, people from different walks of life.

No one is expected to get on with everyone else.

There will always be agreements and disagreements.

No one is perfect, and one person's poo does not smell nicer than the next etc...

I try to get on with people. However, there will always be peeps who rough me up the wrong way without trying very hard. I just turn and walk away from them. It is not hard, and I do not have to win every argument in order to feel complete/worthy/whatever.

Chill and Happy New Year everyone!
