I find the lip service paid to what are essentially whiners hiding behind the veil of you must 'be kind' to me while I am a self indulgent delusional twat. Have contributed greatly to the downward spiral of what used to be a room full of character , originality and unique individuals.

Not quite the same as the "be kind" tone-policing, but I'm also not a fan of the "all opinions are equally valid" mindset that seems to be prevalent online (not just on here).

I know for a fact that sometimes my opinions are dumber than dogshit, and I'm pretty sure I'm no worse than average.

Can't speak to changes on here as I think I joined after that shift had happened.

I guess I just use fab in different ways to a lot of others. I can probably count on one hand how many forum members I have had dialog with. Even then it was never more than half a dozen messages.

I honestly don’t even notice when someone leaves.

Others seem to use it and be part of a club or a society of some sort. Fair play to them.

"Ah! The wonderful and sepia coloured glasses of nostalgia.

My reality is that I chose my profile name partly because over the years I've seen, chatted to and met people at events who are completely detached from reality and walk through the halls of fab with blinkers on.

If someone is a half decent and genuine individual, everyone will see them as such and even those who may not always agree with them can respect them for being honest and inclusive.

Anyone, including some names mentioned above, who divide opinion and cause such extreme reactions by their words or actions can't really be genuine.

If you run with the hare and hunt with the hounds and are nice to some and have a nasty attitude towards those who don't kiss your arse you can't really call yourself genuine.

Some fabbers confuse popularity with productivity on the forums and are quick to turn a blind eye when a "celeb" acts the cunt but get the pitchforks out for the plebs who do likewise.

It’s amazing how people pick and choose their reality based on their own experiences. "

That's society though, people can be friends to some, foes to others. No-one is liked by all

"In terms of people that were fun and managed to do it with causing upset, Diamond Joe, Ghengis and Gemini Man "

I have to say, my memory of two of those being fun without causing upset is different to yours.

Fun without causing upset to those THEY liked, then sure.

One of them was indeed lovely though.

To me this is ‘The wonderful and sepia coloured glasses of nostalgia’ as my experience is definitely different to your own.

But that’s life. "

You beat me too it, I had to chuckle at the irony of the two posts

"getting people banned, that’s not something to miss"

No one else can get a person banned. The person themselves need to type something that breaks rules

OK after reading the thread , some of these people may not post anymore ( for whatever reasons ) but some are still onsite so we shouldn't really be discussing them in a way that might break forum rules. We should also not discuss a ban you may have had or other peoples bans on the forum.

Time to close
