When things are a bit shit…

Important to remember it’s also ok to feel a bit flat, it’s not a sign of weakness or failure. It can be a sign that you’ve expended all of your emotional energy on other people.
Whatever the cause OP big hugs and hope you feel a bit better soon |

Depending on what’s shit: sit in a room on my own with music, curl up in bed with my dog and a book, rewatch of my favourite period dramas, long walk, a hard run, call my best friend, eat all the food. |

I look at ways I can try and improve at least one thing in my life to show I'm actually making an effort to change things, and if it's something out of my control, I'll just distract myself with other things until the feeling passes without trying to overthink. |

Well give one of our cat's a cuddle and strokes, give the wife a hug.
Recently we've started hiking,so finding a nice quiet route and take in the fresh air.

Today has been one of those days. Absolutely had a guts full of work. I listened to break stuff by Limp Bitkit extremely loudly whilst singing at full pelt on the way home. I've spoken to my work colleague to vent. And now I'm sat down trying to decompress, which may take a while but getting there. |

I tend to avoid new things, until I've got whatever is a bit shit sorted.
Which is generally a good strategy, not running away from problems etc. It can have it's drawbacks though, not everything can be fixed easily and then all work and no makes Hans a dull boy. |

Listen to LBC or watch Sky News. Why you might say?
Well the local and global news seems to be full of gloom. It sought of puts things into perspective. You think you might be having a bad day, until you hear the news that some others are having a really bad day.

I'm up and down like a yo-yo lately. Yesterday I felt great, positive, and full of energy then today I've felt lower than a snakes waistcoat. Just got back from 5-a-side and I'm still not feeling myself. I'm back in work tomorrow and that's not helping the situation. |

Normally go for a walk. Either by myself, for around 12 miles or so, or with my mate and her dogs (my boys 🥰) for a wander in the woods.
Nothing like just getting away from the rat race and losing yourself surrounded by trees and good company. |

Focus on something else completely different. I myself have a Mountain bike and a few nice downhill trails. Get the adrenaline pumping abit! Too focused on not giving my self a serious injury to worry about anything else. |

Have you tried having a REALLY big scream? Like not just for a couple of seconds, but the biggest, loudest, longest you can manage? And then refill your lungs halfway through and keep going. . . Until you stop thinking about absolutely anything, other than how weird the scream sounds?
Try it.
It’s a good brain reset.
And it will keep the neighbours on their toes . . .
;p

I accidentally did this when I was out cycling down a quiet country lane that was shrouded by trees; a massive bird of prey swooped down out of nowhere, it's talons stretched out towards my face. I let out a scream but not one of terror, one designed to scare and intimidated, a very primal scream, I'd never heard it before and I had no idea that I could even make such a sound; the bird turned away and flu off and I was left feeling empowered and reconnected with nature. |

Think:
If Britney Spears made it through 2007, I can make it through today. |
