Not so much moany, but more a permanent victim who would then tell you all about it.
A comedy booker I know who always thinks he's getting the shitty end of every stick going and if he won a million pounds would spend the next week complaining about having to go and pick it up and how inconvenient it was having to empty a wheelbarrow to carry it all.

My mum
I think she actually enjoys moaning...nothing I do is ever good enough, she's always moaning about my super-young nieces, my SIL.
She's even started to moan about my brother recently..and she used to say he could walk on water! |

I'm actually a massive moaner. At work if a certain process isn't followed, at the gym if there's a piece of equipment in use that I want, at home if someone moved the positions of the spoons in the drawer. I'll moan to fuck about anything really 😅 |

"I am sure some folks are not happy unless they are having a bad time and go out of their way to make it happen."
If course! My motto's always been "there's misery in the world. You just have to look for it" |

Q - How are you?
A - Fine thanks
^^^Often the biggest lie in the UK.
But if you answer truthfully, you're that person who's always got something wrong with them, always something to moan about.
Do you know what I moan about, apart from my body slowly decaying? The false and frankly toxic form of relentless positivity that is pushed by a lot of people, by modern society.
Maybe we should ask ourselves why the people we know are always moaning? Maybe they've really got something to moan about and maybe something could be done to improve the situation.
Maybe.
Or maybe they're just mood hoovers 🤷🏻♀️
Pretending there's nothing wrong and that everything is super duper mega wonderful is just ridiculous and makes anyone who really is at the shitty end of the stick feel even more impotent and hopeless. |

There's a huge gap between relentless positivity (which I don't like either) and relentless negativity which in my opinion is as toxic, it drags everyone around down. |

I'll be honest and say the only reason I'm not relentlessly, outwardly negative is because I put it all in Pandora's Box in my head. I know no-one really cares to hear and most people expect "I'm fine" each and every time. So you go through the motions and keep a lid on it as much as possible.
Fake it till you make it, or some such nonsense. |

I'm not talking about people who have genuine problems and issues. I'm talking about the ones whose default is negative.
Me:what a lovely sunny day
Negative colleague: {heavy sigh, rolls eyes} yeah but we're stuck in 'this place' and sunlight gives you skin cancer

I met this old man. I befriended him and invited him for christmas dinner. He was a nightmare he used to throw his head back in the chair before he went into a rant. I invited him round on a Tuesday afternoon and he was an absolute nightmare he would go on the whole time he was here. Anyway he got to knocking on my door everyday and I wouldn't let him in but he stood there moaning ( he was also very tight but I won't even go there.) In the end it was affecting my mental health so bad I had to stop him coming round. About six months later he died in his sleep. He was 72 and I'm sure he died of shear hate for the world |
