Did most people's maximum age range drop 10 years from when the OP wrote the thread title and the content of their post?
If so I'd better get a move on. If it drops another 10 years by the time I've finished writing this I'll have to start learning how to make doilies or something. |

It is when you get to that end of the numbers spectrum very difficult for guys not so much women they seem to get sexier as they get older .Just keep plugging away old timer you'll get there in the end .

Everyones different.
I persoanlly dont like the idea of being with someone whonis old enough to be my parent or im old enough omto be there's. So i set a10 up and 10 down rule. I use 10 cos some people are a little creative when putting there ages in. |

I would disagree that most people have set their preferences at 55 because I've seen very few profiles like that.
In the 5+ years I've been using the forums there have been threads complaining about so many people having no interest in men over 45 and then how every second profile was discriminating against 50s and over.
I was 52 when I signed up here and never once had a conversation about my age and it has never stopped me meeting people.
Your age doesn't seem to have been a problem op with the 3 veries you have in just 8 weeks. |

We set our youngest age at 46 and our oldest age at 65. We prefer to meet in clubs where it’s based more on looks, Personality or often mood.
We are both 5’4” an find many will pass due to this ye once we are in a couples room many will want to play with us |

Couples and womens profile usually set their prefences to narrow down the number of responses they receive to those they would possibly consider meeting. Their choices which we should all respect. I find it helps when browsing too. If you are outside of the age, gender or relationship preferences just scroll on by and find people who you match. There are plenty out there and it might be frustrating, especially as an older single male,to find so many who you do not match with but better to spend time and effort in the right places.

There’s a very active and popular thread on the forums which is titled for those over 50, and it’s renewed every time it’s full.

I never noticed your suggestion but I feel the moaning about no one wanting to meet folk over a certain age comes from the men of a certain age as let's face it, a woman on this site is always going to have options no matter her age or what she looks like. |

The other issue is we subconsciously notice things that affect us negatively, as others have said there are loads of threads highlighting a perceived discrimination, 24 year olds complaining that everyone wants to meet 25+, white men complaining women only want black men, black men complaining women only want white ones etc etc |

We all go south as we age.
I'm in a different bracket to when I started and I once met someone who said, he would stop swinging aged 50 as no one wants to fuck 50 year old men.
On the other hand, I've been friends with people in their 60s who have a different take on it and swing just fine.

Personal preferences.
Nothing to to do with age or fitness, but more to do with how we would get along.
I put my top limit at 65 but would have to be an exceptional individual with amazing connection.
Realistically 50-55 is more like it. |

One hopes you made a decision to leave it at that rather than couldn't be arsed to adjust it. But that is YOUR preference.

I'm 56 and I honestly couldn't give a shit what other people have as their preference - and I also understand why people have their preferences.
In my experience, people (especially men) start to look like garden gnomes as they get older - so it's no wonder people limit the age group they interact with.
For me, it's important to try to stay in reasonable shape - nobody is perfect, and we won't always maintain amazing physiques - but the amount of self-neglect with older people is insane! |

At parties, clubs and swingers holidays we tend to be attracted by people we find open, friendly, chatty, good nick for their age and sexy.
Seems like a tall order but in a real life environment it seems to just click.
Within reason, age is of little importance.
We've met mature people who are in fabulous condition both mentally and physically. Younger, who most certainly are not, in either way.
On line, it's difficult as most of us try to sell ourselves as best we can but at a party or club you can be yourself and you will either attract or not.
Our big turn off, is drama queens or bores. Then it "nice to meet you" and a quick move on.

I suppose its because its easier to get an std testing certificate if you're under 55 than a medical certificate if you're over 55 to say your hearts good.

I do struggle to find partners on here, I have no doubt that my age plays a big part, I will be 85 in a few weeks.
In the world outside of Fab it is a different story where in the last year I have met with 3 different ladies all of whom are over 70 and am still in contact with all of them. Long may it continue.
I will not give up on Fab though as I still spot the odd woman whose profile say's they are looking for old men with some saying the older the better. |
