For some reason I'd guess they just see your actions as behaving like a twat. Their own influence on such behaviour probably doesn't really matter to them 💜 |

If someone showed me any level of disrespect I’d block and move on. Why message them back at the same level, you’re dropping to their level

You answered it in the title, entitlement. Society seems to have lost how to value humility and considerations for others. Instead, people feel they are entitled to whatever they want and haven't developed the socially acceptable coping mechanisms for when they don't get it. |

You can't equate a message as real life eg a stranger sending a first message that he deems to be polite and courteous but the recipient doesn't because they've misinterpreted that message ,unfortunately especially on this site the meanings of words get lost in translation, humour ,sarcasm ,serious or caring all get mixed into the melting pot .So maybe Op you missed an important factor that was mentioned in the profile write up or maybe the recipient just got out the wall side of the bed ,just chalk it up as another one bites the dust . |

It can be a whole host of different reasons, sadly this is often never really explored when ruptures or clashes occur.
A retired psychiatrist once said to me. After a 40 year career I realised everyone is projecting their insecurities and frustrations onto each other, including myself. So I retired and now I live in a houseboat in Amsterdam, buy my cheese and jam with my wife and drink port. I have never been happier in my life.
I wouldn't say he encapsulated every aspect of the human condition, but certainly significant part of it.

This is quite interesting to me, in a lot of way - and my reaction to this kind of thing has changed as I’ve learnt to understand what my reaction means.
I’m ADHD with very high levels of rejection sensitivity dysphoria - and for that reason I’d take aggression and rudeness very badly, and am also very selective about who I message (and one of the criteria for me is that I think the person looks like they’d read my message and care enough about the content, to actually reply).
It’s all very well saying “don’t waste your energy” - for me, that’s not really an option. |
