Stories and Ink tattoo aftercare cleanser and healing cream.

Using creams designed for n*ppy rash just leaves a barrier on them and doesn't actually let the skin breathe underneath properly, resulting in patchy healed tattoos.

The larger the tattoo the better care it needs.

None of mine have faded and some are over 15 years old now using good products as a skin care routine.

Use a liquid soap designed for bab*es

And then carry on with the cream they gave you.

As long as your skin isn't sore , it's not having a reaction to the products the tattooist gave you.

Just need to keep going until healed.

been having the exact same with my forearm (twelve days old now), it is healing up well, only a couple of sores left, but was definitely much drier than my first.

Palmers Cocoa Butter did me proud first time round and is working on this one.

"Bepanthen"

Definitely not.

There are creams available on amazon for tattoos and they are brilliant. Stop it drying out and scabbing.

I’ve tried everything having been tattooed for the last 30 years, two products that I found that work wonders are Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula. And Egyptian Magic Cream but you’ll need to shop around online it’s rather expensive.

Cheeseville, Somerset

I've used various options over the years.

Bepanthen, Palmers cocoa butter and most recently tattoo goo.

Everyone's skin is different. The main thing is to make sure you use antibacterial soap, wash gently and make sure it's fully dry before applying whatever you're using.

As most of mine are coloured they’ll sometimes need a touch up after healing, depending on placement and size. It's rare I've had anything done that didn't need a small area of follow up, but that's always free so 🤷‍♂️.

Butterluxe. Soap bar, and balm.

The top of my forearm was worse for healing than the underneath, on my half sleeve. 😬

Soap will dry it out. Try a moisturising shower gel. When dry, I use Palmers cocoa butter. Nice thick layer at night. Central heating drys skin out too

My regular tattooist studied the science behind healing creams and found that original bepanthen was the best. There was a rumour that is was different but that was the American formulation. Don't bother with the tattoo branded one, I've checked and it's identical.

It’s a handy size and cheaper than the bigger tubes of bepanthen, that’s why I’ve used it

Ph neutral baby soap to was and Hustle Butter as a moisturiser.

It's always worked without fail for me. Very little scabbing at all

This but I’d always advise to speak to the artist for their personal recommendation

Also they should have told you this after the tattoo was done

Tattoo goo! It smells so nice and works great. Honestly all my tattoos have healed so well and still look so vibrant + colourful

I’ve been using it for 12+ years on my ink.
