If it turns out to be someone you fancy then it's be sweet, otherwise it'll be dismissed as creepy...
The same is true of compliments or any other unsolicited attention.
Gone are the good old days where a bloke could see someone they fancied and try to initiate contact with a view to finding out if the feelings are mutual, without fear of being labelled a creep, stalker or some other ne'er-do-well sex pest. |

How do they know that?
I've seen lots of women bemoan they don't get flowers, romance is dead, etc.
Somebody decided to do something nice and romantic but instead gets labelled a creep.
I wooed a previous gf with a surprise anonymous flower delivery...
Unless it's Poison Ivy or a Rhododendron (traditional used to convey a threat), I'd see it as a sweet thing. |

Card attached saying something about why they were sent not as creepy, because you should know who you speak to about things..
(I know you've been worried about your upcoming annual MOT, hope these roses send you less worries... Take care secret admirer.)---- not as creepy but still |

If it's a secret then they could be someone they know, just not willing/able to break cover.
Maybe they're a little shy, reading this thread and thinking "thank fuck I didn't put my name on that or I'd be expecting a knock off the fuzz for being a sex pest when all I wanted to do was get her attention."
Flowers are traditionally associated with romance. I've sent anonymous flowers on Valentine's before now. |

Usually if it’s someone that the person fancies, then they will have given off signals that it’s welcome behaviour. So they’d be happy.
So in reverse, of course it’ll be creepy if it’s someone you don’t fancy that you’ve given no signals to.
It’s unusual behaviour to expect someone who doesn’t find you attractive, to want romantic gestures from you. |

No. I would immediately stop fancying someone if they sent me flowers anonymously.
If a man wants to compliment a woman or express an interest he should do so respectfully and openly. Even in the dark ages when I was a young woman we labelled men who didn't understand this creepy. |

It's sexy. It's delightfully old-fashioned with an air of mystique.
It's only creepy if you want it to feel creepy. It's only creepy until it (possibly) becomes creepy.
Whatever happened to the days of innocence? |

Love love love getting flowers sent to me.
But given as I can’t think of anyone who would do that without putting their name on, I think I’d be quite creeped out if it happened. Mostly because my anxiety would go into overdrive about who has my address and are they going to come and murder me next |

Wow, what a world this has become. Thank fuck I've zero interest in dating. I pity the guy trying. If he gets it wrong he's labelled a sex pest, pervert, creepy and lumped in with sex offenders. He's not even permitted to try something without being given the benefit of the doubt that he at least tried.
Valentine's is lauded as being the ultimate in romance, where anonymity is de rigueur, but do it in November and take yourself off to sign the sex offenders register. |

No but seriously why send anonymously? It feels like it could be romantic if the card was sent with an obvious hint of who it’s from but no name (that’s what my fiance receives). But sending flowers without any indication of who they are from is a bit weird. Also like, again, just sign your name? |

If the person thinks it’s flattering and a nice gesture keep the flowers.

No one but YOU found it exciting. THE MAJORITY have told you why it's creepy yet you still choose to equate annomous as knowing. Getting a surprise from a KNOWN sender is not the same as a gesture from an invisible unknown sender..
Maybe comprehension isn't your speciality but creepy is? |

Shh, don't give people ideas ... (and do toe nail clippings count as body parts? need to start small)
Frankly if you ever licked a stamp you sent sone body fluid to a complete stranger.."

I’m paranoid they used it to clone me (how very dare they??). I’m paranoid they didn’t use it to clone me too (wtf am I not clone worthy??).
Hate you stamps in the 80s. Damn you. |

"Wow, what a world this has become.
Really!? I think you're vastly overreacting
So are those referring to the sender in the same sentence as a sex offender, creep or similar.
People are saying this is what those people do. They are not saying that everyone who sends flowers anonymously is a sex offender.
Many women on here are saying it would worry them to receive flowers anonymously. Yet *some* guys are taking it as a personal insult. I think if women say something unsettles them it's probably best to assume they are telling how it is for them "
‘Women don’t know what’s best for them. Why can’t they just take a compliment. Men are scared to approach women. Feminism. Grrrr’
Or something like that. |

"Sending flowers or any gifts to someone anonymously is for me creepy. Where to they know where I work. Or live.
If they liked me in that way just tell me. Much cheaper than sending gifts
Surely the fact they know where to send them suggests it's someone they do know?
Too much CSI watching...
So why not say who you are?
I agree.
The OP asked for an opinion on what people felt
Now there seems to be criticism for giving an opinion
"
It's the age old story
Women say they don't like something some men do.
Some men want to keep doing it despite that so they criticise women for not liking it.
It's really simple and straightforward. There are some women who see all men as a threat it would be wise to consider their backstory. However the majority of us like men and welcome polite expressions of interest at appropriate times and in the correct context.

"On Valentine's anonymous gestures are exciting but in November it's creepy?
No one but YOU found it exciting. THE MAJORITY have told you why it's creepy yet you still choose to equate annomous as knowing. Getting a surprise from a KNOWN sender is not the same as a gesture from an invisible unknown sender..
Maybe comprehension isn't your speciality but creepy is?
But surely the sender must be known of sorts because I personally couldn’t send flowers annon to ANYONE on or off fab unless I knew them or at least where they live 🤷🏽♂️
And I don’t believe ANYONE on or off fab are stupid enough to divulge such info freely 🤔 "
People divulge that info all the time. Any form you fill in online when buying stuff, every delivery person to have ever visited your house, selling stuff on FB marketplace for pickup. Stalkers also follow people home.
Receiving something anonymously would creep me out. |

If you know where they live you could be the postman, the delivery guy (have you seen the threads from delivery men who want a woman to flash them?), the guy who fixed your central heating two months ago (have you seen the threads about going through washing baskets in other people's homes), etc etc. Can you see why some women would be a little concerned at anonymous flowers? |

Flowers with a card/note saying who they’re from? Lovely
Flowers on valentines anonymously but knowing really who they are from? lovely
Flowers out of the blue and no idea at all? Would really freak me out |

I remember something in the news thst a delivery driver started a stalking campaign against someone they delivered to. If I remember it wasn’t the only incident of it either.

Luckily I don’t use social media, unless here counts, and I always use suggested hide my email addresses which makes it harder for my details to be leaked however if someone sent me annon flowers, as I said earlier, I’d appreciate or bin them 😁👍🏽

I’m now 32 and no secret admirers leave me gifts on the doorstep. No open admirers either 😢 |

There's a website which can calculate how many camels you are worth. It says "The camel calculator is designed like a quiz and calculates as a result how many camels you are worth. Based on your information about various characteristics such as age, size and hair color, the number of camels that you, your partner or your friends are worth is calculated."
I shall now try it!

OK, I may have taken liberties (this is going to get the label 'creepy') but it says:

It's a very interesting dilemma.
Unfortunately 99% of woman have a tainted view of the male of the species due to continuous learing, abuse and physical abuse through the years.
What seems a simple gift of flowers becomes a huge red flag!
Which is an absolute shame as it may be completely inoculous and innocent with no meaning.
Modern societal problems in its basic form... |
