When will you put up the christmas tree?
Jump to: Newest in thread
We always have a bicker about this. I want it up as soon as possible, December 1st, fir my grandkids, however the Grinch says it should be put up much later. He would wait until the 20th.
So we always have a little 'discussion", thrash it out and come to a compromise, where we realise that I'm always right and the 1st December it is.
Can't wait, love Christmas, he won't be moaning when I'm wearing my new Mrs Claus outfit, the Bah Humbug haha, Mrs x |

Usually around 18th or 19th for me, when school breaks for Xmas. Really can't be bothered before then and now my daughter is grown up I don't need to do the whole "magic" overhyped thing. Plus the cats knock the fucking Xmas tree over about 400 times a day climbing the bleeding thing 🤣 |

"We've got two and they're both up. " We've got two too. This year I want to go multi coloured lights on one of them, think maybe it's an age thing and I'm being nostalgic for my youth.
Don't get me wrong I love the white lights on trees but think maybe I went along with this over the years to make the house look good rather than decorating it for my kids because they were all grown up. So now we have loads of grandkids I think I want to decorate the tree all multi coloured to show them what Christmas looked like in our time. Silly I know but thought I'd give it a go, make one tree look like it came out of a Quality Street advert.
I love Christmas x |

Me too, and why not. Definitely remember trees being multicoloured when I was younger.
We're quite open plan, so we've one at each end of the house with white lights on, I'm a bit OCD so they needed to match |

"It’s not allowed to be Christmas in our house until all the birthdays are finished so our tree(s) will go up on the weekend of the 29th November."
We can't do that, otherwise we would be putting up the decorations on Christmas morning
Ours is going up this weekend with a mulled wine in hand |

Used to decorate the dining room but that's now been converted into a gym so not going to bother in there now, well maybe but it won't be a lot.
As for OCD I was terrible. I used to measure out the distance between ornaments on my garlands going up the stairs and over the fireplaces. But this became common knowledge and my brother in law took great pleasure in moving the odd one, only slightly, knowing it would send me over the edge. I'd spot it almost immediately and have to sort it out much to his amusement. When my grown up sons started to copy their Uncle I knew I had 'relax' my 'demands' in this area, so no longer measure them out. I do try and get them as equally spaced out as possible but no longer 'bite" if I spot one which has been moved but it does kill a bit of me inside if I spot a renegade ornament. Most people wouldn't understand and would think I'm nuts, I think I'm nuts but can't help it, Mrs x |

"Usually goes up around the 12th, if my partner had his way it would go up the 24th and come down boxing day!"
Mines exactly the same, he hates the whole Christmas starting in November, plus he works away 4 nights a week on a rota and it’s in the loft, I’m not going up there to fight with the spiders |

Not until it's December. I'd be happy putting it up around 20th, but our children are wanting it up much sooner so it'll be in the 1st week I would think. We always get a real tree as it's a family tradition since the children were tiny, all of us going to choose it and bringing it home, then decorating it. |
