Not very, I'd probably trip over a cat on the stairs.

I'm reasonably good at it, looking after blind people

Very far. To combat any lingering fear of the dark I've always just closed my eyes and wondered around where I live. Not aimlessly, that'd be weird.

I could get around the whole house, but I'd end up with a few bruises along the way. I tend to walk into things when I can see 😂

I would absolutely stand in the way in the hope that you’d bump into me.

Naked, too.

Depends on starting point. I can find my way around house without lights from my bedroom, but from a random place I might struggle more

A dazzling place you never knew

I can get all around my house blindfolded and have.

Someone close to me is nir sighted. To better understand their blindness and the challenges of being sighted for more than 70% of their life but having to adjust, I spent three months doing everything around my house with proper occluders used to teach people who have lost their sight independent mobility skills. I did everything from grabbing food from the fridge or cupboards, pouring drinks, making a coffee, showering, washing up, chopping vegetables, cooking, changing the bedding, combing my hair, getting dressed, the washing, even walked from mine to the Tube, and got on, got lost too. Other than attempting the Tube and getting lost, I did all these things safely with adaptive and assistive devices: like a little tool that starts singing when you’re pouring a beverage to alert you to when you’re nearing the top or plastic knives, or a measured out and safe hot water kettle that won’t pour more than the determined amount with the press of a button, etc.

I learned so much about their world but I also can adeptly get around unsighted in my known to me house.

That's actually amazing to me

yeah there

My hobby involves caves that I can find my way round for miles in the pitch dark. Blindfolds are a little more fun though

I could get around the whole house. I had an eye injury 6 years ago and couldn't open my eyes when they were dry without risking severe pain for years (it kept pulling off the scab on my cornea). So I got used to walking around with my eyes closed. I was always very careful in tidying up the floor so I didn't trip up.

So do I. Only put lights on if I'm cooking or looking for something

I can go all day too, it's just night time comes and the light switch has moved, the door has moved, the table leg has moved, the kettle wont fill as the taps are in the oven and then someone has left crumbs on the floor making it feel like lava.
