Edinburgh

When on honeymoon in Italy, my ex and I stayed in Rome, Milan and at various Lakeside hotels.

In Belgirate, we had a corner bedroom with two views over Lake Maggiore. Like most days, we had been lucky with the weather, but one night our bedroom fun was accompanied by the most amazing son etc lumiere.

The loudest thunder I had ever heard provided the soundtrack to prolonged bursts of vivid lightning, which bounced off the calm waters.

Anyone with a similarly exciting backdrop to passionate coupling?

I think Billy Bragg sings about this:

.

"And the sound of happy couples

Coupling happily in the dark"

.

Whereas many others might relate to the later lines in his ode, namely:

.

"All my friends from school

Introduce me to their spouses

While I'm left standing here

With my hands down the front of my trousers"

One summer evening we were having a picnic on the moors just down the road from the Cat and Fiddle between Buxton and Macclesfield. The idea was to have a nice evening and make love under the stars.

As the night got darker we noticed some dramatic clouds across the plains before making out. We were in tge full throes of passion when the storm hit and the downpour was almost instantly torrential. We were that wet that quickly we didn't bother to try to get the car for shelter and had a good session in the thunder storm.

After that, we often took the trip up there if there was a storm brewing.

Lake District

I once fucked my ex boyfriend in the pouring rain, fully naked, in a farmers field perched on the stone wall.

C xoxo

I am now imagining a horde of wilderbeest tearing across those well known plains (not sure that I have ever heard the Peak District be described as 'plains' before)

Fife

Nothing in particular I just like random and spontaneous finding an opportunity and using it.. camping finding a good tree, hiking finding a good hill overview, fishing finding a still part of the lake in the canoe, walking find an old cave or abandoned structure.

That requires non boring coffee or Netflix and chill meets..
